According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundations of the world

Did you hear about the little boy at the beach with a hole dug in the sand getting one shell full of water after another and pouring it into the hole. A man asked him what he was doing and he said, "I am pouring the ocean into this hole"

 

You and I know it can't be done. I hear so many "theologians" trying to pour God into our little minds and it can't be done.

Preachers and professors try to "explain" this truth that we are "chosen in Him before the foundation of the world." There are so many profound truths taught by God that our little finite minds cannot comprehend and we should just rejoice and praise God for it without trying to explain it.

 

This is one of those. You and I may not be able to fully comprehend this truth nor explain it. I just rejoice in it and praise Him that I am one of His and I rejoice in Him daily and will shout all over glory land when He comes to get me and take me home with Him forever.

So what? Learn to "rejoice in the Lord" and all He is doing and is going to do for us for all eternity. This morning in my prayer time, I did just that and almost went up to glory, with the joy God was putting in my heart. "Rejoice in the Lord and again I say rejoice! Oh, dear people I LOVE YOU, make up your mind this year you are going to rejoice in the Lord and leave the doubts and debates to the "theologians." The servant of he Lord must not strive (debate?). We can overcome Satan by the blood of Jesus-see how

Over come Satan
"The accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death" Rev.

12:10, 11.

Satan is overcome by the blood of the Lamb.
We sing that great song, "There is power in the blood of the Lamb".
There is power in the blood to cleanse us from all sin. There is power in the blood to cast out Satan.

Don't play games with Satan.
"Yet, Michael the archangel when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee" Jude 9. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" Eph 6:12.

There is power in the blood
Just as the Israelites sprinkled blood on the door of their house in Egypt to protect them, even so now we, by faith, should sprinkle the blood of the Lamb over our house and over us individually to overcome the attacks of Satan. Then speak the word of our testimony that we are claiming the blood of Christ to protect us today.

Footwashing:getting your sins forgiven

Footwashing
Jesus began washing the disciples feet, He came to Simon  Peter  and he was not going to let Jesus wash his feet. Jesus said, "If I wash thee not, you will have no part with me (not get in on what I am going to do). Peter then said well wash me all over. Jesus said, "He that is bathed, (washed all over at the moment of salvation) need not save, (except) to wash his feet" John 13:1-20.

Bathing or Footwashing?
When one who has been saved ("bathed" all over)  and  sins, he doesn't need to be bathed all over, he is still bathed, saved, and needs only to get his feet cleansed from the dirt in his daily walk.

Judge yourself.
"If we would judge ourselves, (that is quite rare today, it is easy to judge others and see their sins but not our own) we should not be judged, but when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world" 1 Cor. 11:31, 31. The Lord Jesus has already suffered and died for all of our sins, paid our debt in full so we will never be condemned for our sins. When a child of God sins, it breaks fellowship with the Lord, not relationship.

Confess your sins.
He must judge himself, confess the sin to the Lord who then is "faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" 1 John 1:9. Every Christian must read Psalm 51 to see what real confession is. That is what footwashing is all about. Our feet are now cleansed so we can walk with the Lord. When we wash one another's feet, we are  forgiving them, cleansing their feet.
