A passion of mine in 2009 is: a must read: I have proved it for years

The fourth passion of mine in 2009 is (this is awesome, you must read)

 

Jabez was a nobody. He did not write part of the Bible, did no miracles, preached no great sermons but asked for 3 enormous requests and got them WOW. Maybe the most powerful request we can all ask for. He prayed that "Thy hand might be upon me"

and God granted him his requests. 1 Chron 4:10. I have found He is still doing it today as I prayed for these things. I challenge you to pray for the hand of God upon you daily, all this year.

 

Ezra did and look what he got. Ezra was going from Babylon to Jerusalem with at least one hundred with him and needed so much to do it. "The king granted him all his requests according to the hand of God upon him" Ez. 7'6. Then think of all it took for these to go on that four and one half month trip" on horse and hoof and they came to Jerusalem according to the good hand of God upon him" Ez 7:9. This was an unbelievable task and Ezra was "strengthened by the hand of God upon him": Ez. 7:28. . They need some men of understanding to go on this trip. "And by the hand of God upon us, they brought us a man of understanding," just what they needed. They got help against the enemy "by the hand of God upon all them for good that seek him" Ez 8:22, 23.

 

My daily passion and prayer is for the good hand of God to be upon me and my ministry to the glory of God. And bless His name I have seen it day by day and year by year as I have prayed for it daily. I could tell hundreds of fantastic stories of seeing the hand of God in answer to prayer. Make it your passion and prayer for this year. Just yesterday, we had two repairmen fixing some things for us and both prayed to receive the Lord Jesus as their savior as I shared the gospel using "Your ticket to Heaven and the Evangecube just before they left. GOD DID THAT. and He will do it for you if you ask for His hand and glory in all that you do. I love you, ABC Sumner

Third passion of mine in 2009, and yours?

To see the POWER OF GOD in my preaching, teaching and reaching the lost.

 

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me" Acts 1:8. How urgent it is that we are "filled" with, controlled by the Holy Spirit and "walking in the Spirit" so we too can see a "demonstration of the Holy Spirit and power" 1 Cor. 2:4,5.

 

"Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God" Matt. 22:29. God wants us and expects us to know the "power of God" upon us and in our ministry. God says, "You are wrong" not knowing the power of God. That is not a slap in the face or a put down but a wake up call to see the power of God in your life and ministry of putting your gifts to use and impacting others for God and eternity.

 

Our preaching and teaching and reaching the lost must not be with "enticing words of man's wisdom" or it comes to naught. It is the demonstration of the  Holy Spirit of God and the power of God.

 

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and a sound mind" 2 Tim. 1:7. The fears you have of putting to use your spiritual gifts God has trusted you with is not from God. The fears you have of giving the gospel to every creature is not of God. Don't ever forget that someone was bold enough in the Lord to tell you how the Lord Jesus suffered and died for your sins, paid your debt in full, was buried, rose again and was seen by hundreds so your could go to heaven.  You and I have no excuse for not sharing this good news, this gospel with everyone we have those few moments ALONE.

 

"And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit unto Galilee and there went our a fame of him through all the region round about" Luke 4:14. If Jesus walked and worked in the "power of the Spirit" how much more do we need to walk and work and witness in the power of the Spirit. "Don't leave home without it."

 

"And they were astonished at his doctrine for his word was with power:" Luke 4:32. Oh, my soul, how we need to teach and preach and reach the lost with "the power of God," and bless God, people will be "astonished" and come running to hear us, Luke

This year will be dramatically different if you ask for these three things, the wisdom of God, the glory of God) and the power God EVERY DAY. Don't miss the next ones. You are loved by God and me! The number 2 passion of mine in 2009 is the Wisdom of God

 

From Proverbs:

"Happy is the man who findeth wisdom: 3:7...it is better than silver or fine gold: 3:8...all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her: 3:15...length of days, riches and honor are in her hands: 3:16. "Wisdom will deliver thee from the way of the evil man: 2:12...''wisdom will deliver thee from the strange woman:2:16...What powerful promises.

 

How do you get wisdom? (1). "The entrance of thy word giveth light, it giveth understanding (wisdom) to them that ask' Ps 119:130. Soak your heart, soul and mind with the word of God? Make sense? (2). "If any of you lack wisdom (is that ever an understatement?) let him ask of God who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not" James 1:5. Solomon asked for wisdom and did he ever get a dose of wisdom. It is important enough to ask for EVERY DAY and I do. Just as we are to ask for our daily bread, EVERY DAY". That is what Jesus taught his disciples when they asked Him to "teach us to pray." Lk 11. The tragedy is many "lack wisdom because you ask not (you don't keep on asking)" Read Lk 11:1-13 and Lk 18:1-8.

 

One of the proofs you have wisdom, "He that winneth souls is wise" Some one added, "He that does not win souls is foolish"
