Indwelt by the Holy Spirit

Your body is the temple of God! Jesus said, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you" (Jn. 14:16–17).

Paul wrote, "What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, who ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Cor. 6:19–20).

One of the most phenomenal truths and ministries of the Holy Spirit is that He indwells our bodies to mold us and minister through us!

Get up every morning and sing, "The Lord is in His holy temple" (YOUR BODY). You are a man or a woman of God. Doesn't that impress you? Start every day with awe and excitement, waiting to see what He is going to do through you to help change the world for His glory.

Dear people, that is not a cute thought; it is a divine reality. That's what life is really all about. Live in that awe. Live in that reality. You are not just somebody; you are His body. Every day and every way is a divine appointment!

Life is serious. Your life is eternal. Everything you do has eternal consequences. YOU ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD. You live in a divine environment. This truth must make a difference in everything you do today!

David wrote, "Delight thyself also in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart" (Ps. 37:4). Delight in the Lord today. Thank Him for the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life!

Prayer: Father, we are staggered that the Holy Spirit lives in our bodies. Help us to give our bodies as a living sacrifice to You. We want to see Him do great things in us and through us, all for your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Sealed by the Holy Spirit

We are sealed by the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, "Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God, Who hath also sealed us and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts" (2 Cor. 1:21–22).

Paul wrote that we should not "grieve the Spirit, whereby we are sealed unto the day of redemption" (Eph. 4:30).

We are sealed by the Spirit unto the day of redemption. That is very significant. The word "sealed" signifies ownership and assurance of delivery to our final destination, as when we insure and mail a package at the post office. We are sealed unto the day of redemption, when our salvation shall be fully accomplished. Then we will receive our resurrected bodies (Rom. 8:23).

The Holy Spirit is our "earnest"—our guarantee that God will keep His promise to us. Then, to top it off, God tells us that every believer has the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:9) and that the Spirit "will abide with us forever" (Jn. 13:16). Now, that is eternal security!

There's no way that a believer, a born-again child of God who has the Holy Spirit abiding with him forever, can go to hell. The Holy Spirit can't be in hell, can He? Doesn't that make sense?

David wrote, "O that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men" (Ps. 107:15). Dear people, this ministry of the Holy Spirit to believers is so important to know about. Count on Him for your peace and security.

Prayer: Father, You are so amazing. You do everything wonderfully. Thank you for this powerful ministry of the Holy Spirit to each of Your children. May we rejoice in it and live a godly life because of it. In Jesus' name, Amen.
