God told that great church at Ephesus "I know thy works and thy labour and thy patience and how thou canst not bear them which are evil and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles and are not and hast found them liars and thou hast borne and hast patience and for my name sake has laboured and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen and repent and do the first works or else I will come unto thee quickly and remove thy candlestick out of his place except thou repent (change your mind). Rev. 2:2-5.
The sixth passion of mine in 2009 is to restore that first love!!!!!!
O, I have not gotten drunk or quit going to church but that passionate love for Jesus, for the Bible, for the lost has lost some of its edge. How do you get it all back. "Do the first works!" I was saved on Sunday and that very Wednesday, I went to prayer meeting for the first time in my life. I found out what tithing was and began tithing and even gave way above my tithe those first weeks. Sunday night I began telling one after another how I just got saved. I talked to God all day and found He was so glad to hear from me. Monday. No one told me to but I began going to my old buddies, apologizing to several I had gotten into fusses with and quit associating with them. Told how I had gotten saved and got some to promise to go to church with me. Several got saved too. I could hardly put my new found Bible down. I would read it for an hour at a time and could hardly stop. PTL I have already starting doing those first works and found IT WORKS. I love HIM and you, ABC Sumner
