Where is the conviction of sin? How to see God do it
Problem number one
In today's society, non Christians have no conviction of their sin but think they are good people and are going to heaven. Most would say at the gates of heaven, "I have done the best I can" or I try to live a good life" or "I try to live by the golden rule" of "I try to keep the ten commandments."
Never start by telling a person, "You are a sinner." Many tracts and many presentations of the gospel start out with "The first thing you need to know is that you are a sinner." Now, you have slapped them in the face, you have insulted them, you have offended them and they are on the defensive. They feel you are saying they have but you haven't and think Christians are self righteous or feel "holier than thou."
We are all in the same boat
THIS WORKS, tell them, "We are all in the same boat, we have all done wrong, we have all sinned, haven't we?" They will almost always acknowledge they have sinned too. It is amazing how simple that is and how easily it works. Then quote, God says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." God says, "If we say we HAVE no sin, we deceive ourselves." "There is none righteous, no not one." Let the Holy Spirit convict with the Word of God. He does a great job.
Next lesson is the best of all, don't miss it.
Prayer: Father, bless Your witnesses and help us to let the Holy Spirit do what He came to do through each of us, in Jesus name
