I am doing a series on the blood of Christ.

 

It takes soap and water to wash away dirt on your hands

 

It takes gasoline to get grease off your hands.

 

It takes turpentine to get paint off your hands.

 

It takes the blood of Christ to wash away sins in your life..

 

We are to "preach the gospel". Nothing is said about the blood of Christ in the Biblical definition of the gospel 1 Cor. 15:1-4. Why not? Stick with me and I will share why I think it is not. there.

 

When Adam and Eve were created, "They were both naked and were not ashamed" Gen. 2:25. They had not sinned yet and no reason to be ashamed. The sad fact today is that multitudes are partly or completely naked and still not ashamed. So many are like those in Jeremiah's day. "Were they ashamed when they committed abomination? nay, there were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush" Neh. 8:12.

 

When Adam and Eve sinned "they came to the knowledge of good and evil" Gen. 2:9. They were ashamed and "hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God" Gen 3:8. The rest of the story Monday.

This is the first day of the rest of your life

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind" Phil. 3:13.

Forget all the failures and faults of the past. The way to do that is to confess the sins of the past and put them under the blood of Christ and forget them. Don't let the devil bring them up and beat you to death with his accusations. Don't quibble about it. You know what you have done wrong or what you did not do that was right and you did not do it. "To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin" You neglected reading His Word, He has waited daily for a talk with you and you neglected to pray or you failed to tell lost people like someone told you, the good news how God loves them and His dear Son suffered and died for their sins, paid the debt in full, rose again and was seen by hundreds. There can be no worse sin.

 

Forget the victories and accomplishments. To God be the glory. You cannot live on those all your life. The vast majority in every country are lost and most have not really heard the gospel clearly presented. "If our gospel be hid...Satan has blinded the minds. 2 Cor. 4:3,4. Make up your mind and pledge yourself to give people the gospel like someone did you. That is the best way to start the new year for the glory of God and for your eternal rewards and joys of the Lord. WE must change the world, one soul at a time. Please get in the game. The real new year begins when...

You become a new creature.
"If any man be in Christ he is a new creature (new person) 2 Cor. 5:17. . How fantastic that God makes us a new person, old things are passed away, all things are become new" You get to start all over with a clean slate.

You get a new nature
"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature 2 Peter 1:4. Every good and Godly desire comes through this new nature. Be grateful God puts those divine desires in us through this new nature. We MUST obey the Spirit and do what He urges us to do.

You get a new Father.
" Beloved, now are we the sons of God" I John 3:2. "When you pray say, "Our Father".

You get a new home
"In my fathers house are many mansions...I go to prepare a place for you" John 14:2, 3. This world is not my home, I am just a passing through. The older you get the more you deeply realize we do not belong here, we do not fit it.

You got a new year
"You only go around once in life". You cannot kill time without injuring eternity. You have just the same amount of time as Bill Gates or the richest man in the world. Invest it in eternal things, don't waste it. It is too precious.

May this be the most blessed year of your life. Seriously, it may very well be your last year. Jesus is coming any minute. "Prepare to meet thy God" Amos 4:12.

New Years resolutions

Ask, every day, what the apostle Paul asked when he saw the Lord. "What will thou have me to do" Acts 9:6

With Peter make a resolution, "At Thy word, I will" Luke 5:5 do whatever God says or asks us to do in His Word.

With Joshua say AS FOR ME. I will serve the Lord. Josh 24:15
