Encourage Someone Every Day!!!!!!!!!!

Encourage Someone Today, Tomrrow, Every Day!

Israel wandered for forty years in the wilderness, out of the will of
God. They wandered aimlessly and murmured shamelessly. What a
miserable life. As they were about to enter the promised land, flowing
with milk and honey, Joshua said, "Choose you this day whom you will
serve but as for me...I will serve the Lord" Joshua 24:15.

Serve the Lord Are you tired of wandering and squandering your life?
Take charge of your life and say, "as for me I will serve the Lord."
"Am I my brother's keeper?" Gen. 4:9. Yes, you are!

Encourage your brother "But encourage one another daily, as long as it
is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's
deceitfulness" Heb. 3:13. Who did you encourage yesterday? This is one
of the most potent verses in the Bible. There are too many prodigal
sons, too many wandering in the wilderness, too many have left their
first love, neither hot nor cold because someone did not care enough
to encourage them at a crucial time.

Call someone, someone missed church, did not show up in your Sunday
School class, "pray for one another" James 5:16, call them and let
them know you prayed for them and love them. They may be hurting and
like the Psalmist, feel, "No man cared for my souls" Psalm 142:4. "It
is more blessed to give than to receive," Acts 20:35. Email someone
and tell them you love them and pray for them.
In the dumps One day, everything had gone wrong. I was in the dumps. A
friend heard me on the radio, pulled off the highway, went to a phone,
called me and told me what a blessing I was. It turned my day around
beyond imagination. "Go and do likewise" Luke 10:37. Encourage your
wife, children, boss, a friend and be a blessing.

Prayer:  Father, bless this child of Yours and may they be a blessing
to someone today, In Jesus name.

Meditation

Meditation: a lost art? Worth a fortune!

"Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful" Josh 1:8. "Blessed is the man"...whose "delight is in the law of the Lord and on his law he meditates day and night...and whatever he does he prospers" Ps. 1:1-3.

Great benefits "Make thy way prosperous," "have good success," "whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."The labor force wants to know what are the "benefits" on this job. Well, dear people, you cannot beat these benefits.

Method of operation This is the MO, modus operandi, the method of operating the Christian life. "Meditate" and "Obey." Profoundly simple but simply profound.

Meditation, the world today talks a lot about meditating but their idea is terribly different from God's plan. They simply open their minds to whatever comes. Satan likes that and can put into their minds, as he has done since Adam and Eve, some very false ideas. This meditation is to "think" on the Word of God, great truth. Close you mind to all outside distractions and "think" seriously and intensely on a verse or verses that God has spoken. Then ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten you to the meaning and message in it for you. The Psalmist did and prayed this, "Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law" Psalm 119:18. Meditating is a great practice while riding in your car. I never turn on the radio but spend the time meditating.

You will be wealthy O, dear people, do this and you will be the wealthiest (spiritually) person on the block. This takes more than a minute of two. In your quite time with God, after you have read the Bible, 5 or so chapters, spend 20 or 30 minutes thinking about what you read and let the Holy Spirit teach and transform you more and more into God's likeness 2 Cor. 3:18. He will.

Obey God Do what Mary said, "Do whatever he tells you" John 2:5. Then, be like Peter and say, "I will because you say" Luke 5:5. Then you will have "good success" and "whatever you do will prosper." Doesn't that make sense? Wouldn't it seem foolish not to do it? Will you take charge of your life in this area? Will you make this a practice in you life?

Prayer:  Father, bless Your children and help us all to take charge and do the best things in life so we live abundantly for our good and Your glory. In Jesus name.

Memorize Verses

"As for me I will serve (obey) the Lord" IMPORTANT

"Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You" Psalm 119:11. Of all the things I have done as a Christian NOTHING has meant more, impacted me more, changed me more, benefited me more than MEMORIZING the Word of God. Beginning in 1941, I began memorizing verses. To God be the glory I have memorized hundreds upon hundreds of verses. It wasn't easy. I don't have a photographic memory. I would not trade what I did for a King's ransom.

For almost 5 years, I have sent out three messages a week to 7000 of you in almost 50 countries. The verses I memorized, for the most part, have come from the foundation and fulfillment of the verses I memorized. I could not have done it had I not learned all those verses.

Begin now Everything has a beginning. Whether you have or have not begin now to memorize the Word of God. Start with one a week or one a month but PLEASE do it. You will be thankfull for eternity, I promise you.

Begin with short verses or part of a verse For instance: "Rejoice in the Lord" Phil 4:4. "Pray without ceasing" 1 Thes. 5:17 "In everything give thanks" 1 Thes. 5:18. "Exercise thyself rather unto godliness" 1 Tim. 4:7 "Do not neglect the gift that is in you" 1 Tim. 4:14. "Set your affections on things above" Col. 3:2. "I will because you say" Luke 5:5. The greatest verse in the Bible for us Christians. I use it all the time. Jesus said do it and Peter said, "I will." Oh that we all lived like that. I get goose bumps just thinking about this verse and its potential for you and me.

Get the picture? Parts of Old Testament verses were quoted often in the New Testament such as Matt. 1:22. As you read your Bible, underline verse or parts of verses that impress you and memorize them in this next year. You will be glad you did and so will the dear Lord.

Prayer:  Father, bless your dear children reading this. Helps us all to enjoy You and Your word to the fullest. MAKE US a blessing by us being so full of You and Your word, that we cannot help being a blessing. We love YOU. In Jesus name.

Let God Work Through You!

WOW, look what God did yesterday

"Choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" Josh 24:15.

Oh dear people, the last thing Jesus commanded all of us is to do is "Preach the gospel to every creature" Mk. 16:15. He is saying, "give them a chance to go to heaven."

Tell the good news

Yesterday, I had some business with a person in the branch of a big business. I stepped out of the office a few minutes after signing some papers and out of his office stepped the manager of the big branch. He smiled and said hello. Graciously I handed him the Mickey Mantle tract. It opened the door to talk to him. Oh my was his heart opened. I told him how God loved and that Jesus suffered and died for our sins, paid our debt in full and rose again. His eyes filled with tears and he gladly bowed his head and prayed out loud with me to receive the Lord Jesus. He then said, "God sent you to me today." It was awesome.

Five minutes later

The number two man, looked up, saw me and said, "Hello." I asked if he had a minute. He said, "Yes, come on in." Isn't God great. This man, about 40 years old, was a preachers son. He had run from God. After I shared the gospel with him, he too was in tears and prayed out loud with me to receive the Lord Jesus. I wish you could have seen him as he jumped up, smiling and shook his head saying he could hardly believe what had just happened to him. GOD DID ALL OF THAT.

TAKE CHARGE

Let's obey God and get in on the thrill of all thrills of seeing people born of God right before our eyes. It is fantastic.

And I love you dearly and tell all of this and pray you will be blessed and used of God. All because of Calvary, sumner

Who is in Charge of Your Life?

Did you hear about the Marine who had been in the Marines, got out and was now reenlisting. The enlisting officer said, "You have been in the Marines. You know the rigors and demands on you in the Marines. Tell me why are you reenlisting. The Marine raised his head, looked out the door and said, "There is no one in charge out there."

Who is in charge?  The truth is there are so very few in charge of their own lives. Joshua looked at the people of Israel who were about to enter the promised land and said, "Choose you this day whom you will serve but as for me...I will serve the Lord" Joshua 24:15. He took charge of his life and of course his house. My heart is stirred beyond measure tonight and I want to encourage you, no challenge you, to take charge of your life. So many just play games with God. "Why do you call me Lord and do not the things which I say?"
Read your bible and enjoy God in heaven and the letters He wrote for you. Job said, :"I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food" Job 23:12. How do you esteem the Word of God? Less than your necessary food? As much as or more than your necessary food? Would you be embarrassed tell God how little you read? Please take charge and read at least 5 chapters a day. Begin in the Gospel of John, please not Genesis. Under line verses that are especially meaningful or answer questions for you. Memorize at least one verse a week. "Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You" Psalm 119:11. Meditate on what you read each day, for at least a few minutes. "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success" Josh 1:8. Now, doesn't that make sense?

Turn off the TV It really is a shame to spend much more time watching dumb junk on TV. Instead fill your your soul with the riches of God's Word and grace. "Those that honor me, I will honor" 1 Sam. 2:30.

O dear people, you know this, "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matt 6:33. My heart is so burdened about this for all of us, that I can hardly stand it. Be like Peter and say, "I will because you say" Luke 5:5. and remember, I love you, all because of Calvary, sumner

Salvation versus Rewards

What Christ did for me on the cross brings salvation, What I do for Christ after being saved brings rewards.

The work of Christ brings salvation we are all in the same boat, we have all sinned, offended God, polluted ourselves and deserve the wages of sin, spiritual death, eternal separation from the one and only living Holy God Rom. 3:23, 6:23. The Good news is that Christ died for our sins, paid our debt in full, rose again, and was seen alive by hundreds 1 Cor. 15:1-4. "The gospel is the power of God to salvation to everyone who believes" Rom. 1:16. Nothing more and nothing less will bring salvation. "He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit" Titus 3:5. see Matt. 3:13-15. "For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory but not before God.  Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Works of righteousness by us brings rewards "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them" Eph. 2:8-10.

Rewards according to our works "Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done" Rev. 22:12. Read 1 Cor. 3:11-15. If a man's works are burned, he shall suffer loss but he himself shall be saved yet so as by fire.

The bottom line is I am saved by grace but after I am saved, I am rewarded in heaven by works done to the glory of God.

O dear people, put your gifts to work for Christ and lay up treasures in heaven and pleasures down here. All because of Calvary, sumner

Fellowship with God

Fellowship with God-that your joy might be full

"These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete" 1 John
1:4. What brings fullness of joy? "Fellowship" with one another and
"with the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ" 1 John 1:3.

Fellowship, "koinonia" the Greek word, means communion or sharing in
common. It means to enjoy each others' company, to have things in
common, to be in agreement. You can be a child of your father and not
get along with him. You have no fellowship. That too often happens to
a Christian father and non-Christian son or visa versa.

No fellowship "Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what
partnership has righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has
light with darkness?" 2 Cor. 6:14. There is nothing in common, there
is no agreement.

"If we say we have fellowship with God" "If we say that we have
fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not
practice the truth" 1 John 1:5. The reason? God is light and in him is
no darkness at all.

Sinful  behavior, breaks fellowship, not our relationship That seems
so obvious. We can understand it in our physical relationships and not
transfer it into our Spiritual relationship; with God, our heavenly
Father. When we are born of God, we have His life, eternal life, and
shall never perish. When we sin, He will spank us, chastise us, (Heb.
5:5-11) "that we should not be condemned with the world" 1 Cor. 11:32.
"There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" Rom. 8:1.

Back in fellowship with God "If we confess our sins, He is faithful
and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness" (for the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin) 1
John 1:9. The offense, the disagreement is removed and we are back in
fellowship with the Father. Make sense?

Prayer:  Father bless Your children. Help us to stay in fellowship
with You and have fullness of joy. In Jesus name. And I love YOU. All
because of Calvary, sumner

Relationship and Fellowship

Relationship is based on birth, fellowship is based on behavior. You were born of your father and mother. That is permanent no matter what happens. They can disregard you, disown you, disinherit you but you are still their child.

Relationship with God; to God is based solely on birth. "You must be born again" John 3:3. "For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God" 1 Peter 1:23. We were born of our parents by corruptible seed and we shall all die physically unless Jesus comes first. When we are born of God we are born of incorruptible seed and we shall never die spiritually. Doesn't that make sense?

Physical versus spiritual death "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned" Rom. 5:12. We all belong to Adams race by our physical birth and so we all shall die physically. Those who have not been born again will also die the second death, spiritual death, separated from God forever. We who have been born again with everlasting life will never perish John 3:16.

Fellowship Relationship is permanent, fellowship is temporary. Relationship is based on birth, fellowship is based on behavior.

Prayer:  Father, bless You children reading this. Give them that sweet fellowship with You and let them have a bucket full of the fruit of the Spirit, in Jesus name

You are LOVED by God and me, all because of Calvary, sumner

What Repentance is not

Repentance is not:
Godly sorrow for sins

"For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death" 2 Cor. 7:10. Godly sorrow works or produces repentance but it is not repentance. We saw Wednesday that repentance is from the Greek word Metanoia, which means "change of mind?"

The need for godly sorrow. Sorrow for sins is desperately needed in and out of the church. Jeremiah tells about his day saying, "For from the least of them even to the greatest of them, Everyone is greedy for gain, And from the prophet even to the priest Everyone deals falsely" and then says, "Were they ashamed because of the abomination they have done? They were not even ashamed at all; They did not even know how to blush" Jer. 6:13-15. People talk openly about their sexual promiscuity, perversion and practices without one ounce of shame. neither do they blush. There is no conviction nor contrition over sin.

What is the answer Sorrow for sins, conviction of sins, contrition over sins, must be produced in the hearts of people by the Holy Spirit. " He will convict the world concerning sin " John 16:8. We preachers and pastors just need to see the "hand of God upon us" as it was upon the apostles. It all starts with us being "filled with the Holy Spirit," so that we see old fashioned conviction of sin. Peter saw that conviction in his preaching shortly after he wept over his sins of denying the Lord Jesus. "Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?" Acts 2:37.

Stephen saw it Stephen preached, "being full of the Holy Ghost" and "Now when they heard this, they were cut to the quick, and they began gnashing their teeth at him" Acts 7:54. Of course he lost his life but gained and eternal reward.

We all need to see it Preachers, teachers, and reachers of souls all need to see the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We must be "purged" vessels "meet for the masters use" 2 Tim. 2:22. We must "thirst" and "drink" and "believe" to see "the flow of rivers of living water," the Holy Spirit flowing through us to see conviction and contrition in our hearers. Doesn't that make sense?

Prayer:  Father help us to preach and teach in the power of the Holy Spirit and see dynamic and powerful results in our churches today. In Jesus name.

Repentance

"I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish" Luke 13:5.

What is repentance? It was my privilege to major in Greek in seminary. The Greek word "metanoia," repentance, means "change of mind." Meta, like in metamorphosis means to change and noia like in paranoid, means mind.

God must change their minds "The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, be patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth" 2 Tim. 2:24, 25. God must give them repentance, change their minds.

God gets the glory What a difference it makes when in preaching, teaching or reaching the lost when we understand that. You and I cannot make them see the truth or change their minds. God must do that. When we depend on Him to open their eyes and change their minds so He gets the credit and glory, He will do it more for you.

Acknowledge the truth He gives repentance "to the acknowledging of the truth" not to "turning from their sin." It is so vital in witnessing. I have seen it hundreds and hundreds of times. You witness to someone and they think they are good people and haven't done anything bad and you say, "We are all in the same boat, we have all sinned, haven't we?" They always admit they too have sinned. They repent and "acknowledge the truth."

Not by our works Most people think they are saved if they do enough good deeds. When you share the gospel and tell how the Lord Jesus died for our sins, paid our debt in full and rose again, God opens their eyes and see it is not their works but Christ's work on the cross that pays our sins, They then, repent and "acknowledge the truth."

What are you going to do about it Now, the question is, "What are you going to do about it?" They must believe and receive the Lord Jesus to be saved and THEN will they turn from their sins because they are born again, not to become born again. There is a vast difference.

Prayer:  Father, help us to depend on the Holy Spirit to do His work of conviction, convincing and conversion. In Jesus name. You are loved by God and me, ABC, sumner

Share the Gospel everyday

Observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you

"Preach the gospel to every creature" Mark 16:15 "Teaching them to observe all that I commanded you" Matt. 28:20.
What had He commanded them? "Preach the gospel to every creature." Now isn't that simply profound and profoundly simple? Most of the time, new Christians are the most fervent about trying to get their family and friends to Christ. Remember how Jesus said to the one healed, "Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you" Mark 5:19.

One girl I had the joy of leading a 13 year old girl to Christ. In the next four months we saw over thirty of her family come to Christ because of her witness to them and bringing them to church. Now that should be the normal thing to happen.

A common occurrence In the thirteen years that I pastored, almost every person we saw accept Christ, was concerned about their loved one and friends getting saved too. That just makes sense. What is the most important thing that ever happened to you? Getting saved, of course. What then is the most important thing you can do for someone else? Why getting the gospel to them and see them saved too. Doesn't that make sense? Let's teach new Christians the joy of sharing the gospel before they lose that wonder of it all.

Prayer:  Father, bless your children who get saved and may they bring their friends and family to Christ too. In Jesus name YOU are loved by God and me, ABC, sumner

Teach everyone to Give more than receive

Teaching them "It is more blessed to give than to receive" Acts 20:35. Teach new Christians this great truth. You will be doing them a great favor. You cannot make them see it or do it but you give them the truth and God will bless you for doing it.

God gives "it is He who is giving you power to make wealth" Deut. 8:18. All of us know that we could be flat on our backs tomorrow and not earn another dime if it were not for the grace of God. "What do you have that you did not receive" 1 Cor 4:7.

The tithe "is the LORD'S; it is holy to the LORD" Lev. 27:30. One tenth of all our increase belongs to God. What a joy to give Him what is His and then see Him bless us for doing it. We need to teach new Christian's this blessed truth.

Jesus said, "You ought to." "Pay tithe of mint…but these are the things you should have done " Lk. 11:42. Some say tithing is under the law and we don't have to do it today. Not so. "Thou shalt not kill" was given under the law and it is still true to day. So is tithing a wonderful privilege today.

Rob God? "Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, 'How have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. "You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you" Malachi 3:8, 9.

O dear people. what a privilege we have to learn the joy of giving, just as others gave of their tithes and offerings so we heard the gospel and are going to heaven because they did give. Now we have a part in giving to our church and to missions through our church so millions of others go to heaven instead of hell. Doesn't that make sense

Prayer:  Father, bless Your child and may they know the joy of giving. In Jesus name

Life is fragile, handle it with prayer

Teach us to pray "Teach us to pray" Luke 11:1 the disciples asked the Lord Jesus. He did and we should teach new converts too. The Lord Jesus gave them a prayer list to pray every day. "If you want to have an effective pray life, you must have a prayer list" sumner. Two reasons, one so you will pray for the things we are told to pray for and so your mind does not wander and your get sidetracked.
You can't beat it If Jesus gave the Lord's prayer list to his disciples, we can't improve on what He did. I am stunned at how people analyze, spiritualize, allegorize, sanitize and explain away the Lord's prayer until you hardly know what it means. Ever read the books written on the Lord's Prayer? No, just pray what He taught. He said, "Say, our Father..." Luke 11:2.

The key What you ask for tells what your priorities are. It tells what is important to you. When you pray what He told us to pray it shows you are interested in what He is interested in. You priorities are what His priorities are. Make sense?

Hallowed be Thy name Doesn't it crush you when you hear someone take His name in vain? I hurts me terribly when they do. Then pray what He said and it will bless His heart that you care enough about His name to pray that.

Give us this day Ask daily, in the morning, what He said. "Give us this day our daily bread. Matt. 6:11. God fed the Israelites the manna one day at a time. They had to go get it. He wanted them to know they needed his provision one day at a time. He wants us to "ask" him for our daily needs. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is a good axiom. Don't try to improve on what Jesus said to "say." Just say it. This is the key to financial freedom. My wife and I have prayed the every day for over 25 years and we have not had one financial crisis or crunch all these years. Of course you must be honoring the Lord with what money you have first of all but it is Biblical way to financial freedom.

Make a list Teach them to make a list of family and friends they want to see saved and pray for them daily. Make a list of ministries to pray for such as your church, minister, missionaries, Christian ministries, schools etc. Include in your list, Bible lists such as 1 Tim 2:1-4, and things we are told to pray for such as "the peace of Jerusalem Ps 122:6, the Lord to send forth laborers Matt 9:38. Jabez prayer is powerful. He was a nobody and asked for 4 big time things and "God granted him his request." He is still answering it today of those who keep on asking I Chron 4:10.

The main thing "You do not have because you do not ask" do not keep on asking. James 4:2. Read the Bible for God to speak to us and then pray to speak to God and then witness to speak to men for God.

Prayer:  Father, bless Your witnesses. Help us to pray and to teach others to pray so they can get their daily needs met and the blessings you have for them. In Jesus name.

Assurance of Salvation

If you died right now do you know for sure you would go to heaven?

Let me give you a verse. "If God were to say to you, You have everlasting life, you are saved, would you be sure then? " They answer, "Yes."

He that believes on the son

John 3:36 is the best verse in the Bible to let you know for sure you have everlasting life. God says, "He who believes in the Son has eternal life." The whole world is divided into two groups of people. All the religions are divided into two groups. One group, they believe in what they are doing to get them to heaven. They believe in their good works, or baptism or church membership or whatever to get them to heaven. The other group believe in what the Lord Jesus did when He died for our sins, paid our debt in full and rose again. God says, he that believeth on the Son HAS everlasting life.

Not by works Do you believe what you do is going to get you to heaven? They answer, "No." "Do you believe on the Son as your Savior too? He that believes on the Son has everlasting life. Do you have every lasting life right now, like He said? They answer , "Yes." How do you know, "Because God said so?" Now that is Biblical faith, saving faith and the assurance is not based on feeling but on faith in the Lord Jesus and the Word of God.

Still not sure I always go back over the issue, Did the Lord Jesus pay your debt of sin or didn't He? That is the crucial question. When they answer, "Yes," Give them John 3:36 again and ask the question again, Do you believe on the Son or not. Often I have seen it takes a couple of times going over it like this for it to sink in.

Not by feelings but by faith God did not say, He that believes on the Son, will feel like he is saved. I don't feel like I am married. There is not some funny feeling going on inside that tells me I am married. I know I am married because that preacher, who had the authority said, "You are now married." How much more I can trust God when He said, I have everlasting life. "Doesn't that make sense?

Prayer:  Father, use us all to help people to have assurance of their salvation. In Jesus name

Making the decision to accept Christ

How to help them make the decision to be saved:

Close the deal

Remember in Matt. 13 that the seed that fell by the wayside was snatched up by the evil one Matt. 13:19. We must offer them the opportunity to receive the Lord Jesus lest the evil one snatch this truth out of their heart.

Good illustration

If you owed a bank $10,000 and could not pay it but someone loved you and offered to pay the bank the $10,000. in your place, that would be good news. If you refused to let them, then you still owe the bank. That would not make good sense. Jesus paid the debt of sin in full and rose again and wants you to trust Him that when He died on the cross He was paying your debt of sins too and believe on Him as your Savior and receive him as your savior.

Good ground

The seed that fell on "good ground" are those "who hear the word and understand" (Matt. 13:23). Remember how Philip, asked the Ethiopian Eunuch who was reading the Bible, "Do you understand what you are reading?" Acts 8:30. Ask, "Do you understand that?" "Does that make sense to you?" I have found, this will help you to know if they are ready and cull out those who are not sincere or really ready.

People need to know what to do and want to do it There are two essentials to real conversion. People must know how to be saved and must be willing to be saved. "God is not willing for any to perish," 2 Peter 3:9 and they must be willing for God to save them. Our job is to tell them how and the Holy Spirt must convict and draw them. He trust us to do our part and we can trust Him to do His part. He does not force it on them and we must not try to force it on them. That is one reason there are so many unsaved church members today. "You do not talk people into being saved." Don't you try it.

Ask for a decision

"Will you trust God that Christ paid your debt too and receive Him as your Savior right now. "Would you let me lead us in a word of prayer and you tell God you want to receive the Lord Jesus as you Savior too?"

Lead them in the decision

Bow your head right away and gently ask them to bow their head and pray this out loud with you. I have found it helps to have them pray it out loud. Most of the time they do not know how or what to pray and so it is good for us to lead them in it.

Pray

Just say, "Dear God." Let them say it. 'I know I have sinned too." "I know I should pay for my sins." I believe You that Jesus suffered and died for my sins." "Paid my debt in full and rose again." "I trust You and receive You as my Savior right now." "Give me a new birth." "Give me the power to live for you the rest of my life." 'In Jesus name."

Often, they will look up with tears in their eyes and have assurance they are saved. Friday, I want to go into how to help them know for sure they are saved. Don't miss this one.

Prayer: Father, give us wisdom to know exactly what to say and how to say it so we can see scores of people go to heaven instead of hell because we cared and shared. In Jesus name. God loves you and so do I, ABC, sumner

O dear people. this is a joy that far exceeds all the joy this world has to offer. Don't miss out on it. God wants to use YOU. "The harvest is plenty" Matt. 9:37. "I sent you to reap," Jesus said in John 4:38.

Be Reasonable

Be reasonable
Twice it says Paul "reasoned" with people Acts 17:2, 18:4. We should do
the same! I want to do the same with you about witnessing. To review; 1.
Never ask a person, "Are you a Christian." All church members think they
are 2. Never say, as some tracts start out, "You are a sinner." You
offend them. Say rather, "We are all in the same boat, we have all done
wrong, we have all sinned, haven't we?" The reason for saying, "We have
all done wrong" many think of sin only as murder or some heinous crime
and they have not done that. All know they have done wrong but don't
think of it as sin. Getting them to admit they have done wrong and
equating it with sin, I find, gets them to admit they have sinned.

The pollution of sin
Reason by saying, "If you had a glass of pure clean water and someone
put one drop of poison or filth in it would you drink it?" "Of course
not" is the obvious answer. "One drop would pollute the whole glass,
wouldn't it?" Just so one sin, pollutes us and we are unclean and unfit
to go to heaven." This always gets the right response from them,

The penalty of sin
Graciously say, "God says, the wages of sin is death." Not just physical
death but it is a spiritual crime and it separates us from God.

The good news
The good news is that "Christ died for our sins" paid the debt in full
and rose again so He can be our Savior and forgive us our sins." He did
not make a down payment for our sins or a partial payment but paid the
debt in full. I have found, you must say "Christ died for our sins" over
and over for them to catch on. A soul winner must know and say it
clearly, that "the gospel," Christ died for our sins and rose again, "is
the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes." How can they
believe it, if it is not specifically said? Make sense? This is the key
to leading people to Christ. If you leave out anything, you must not
leave out the gospel or you see no results or your results will be
false. I cannot stress this enough.

O dear people, I find so many people are wide open to listen to the
gospel if you genuinely care and graciously share the gospel.

Prayer: Father, bless Your witnesses and help us to get the gospel to
lost and dying people, in Jesus name. All because of Calvary, sumner

How do you see sin?

Where is the conviction of sin? How to see God do it

Problem number one
In today's society, non Christians have no conviction of their sin but think they are good people and are going to heaven. Most would say at the gates of heaven, "I have done the best I can" or I try to live a good life" or "I try to live by the golden rule" of "I try to keep the ten commandments."

Never start by telling a person, "You are a sinner." Many tracts and many presentations of the gospel start out with "The first thing you need to know is that you are a sinner." Now, you have slapped them in the face, you have insulted them, you have offended them and they are on the defensive. They feel you are saying they have but you haven't and think Christians are self righteous or feel "holier than thou."

We are all in the same boat
THIS WORKS, tell them, "We are all in the same boat, we have all done wrong, we have all sinned, haven't we?" They will almost always acknowledge they have sinned too. It is amazing how simple that is and how easily it works. Then quote, God says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." God says, "If we say we HAVE no sin, we deceive ourselves." "There is none righteous, no not one." Let the Holy Spirit convict with the Word of God. He does a great job.

Next lesson is the best of all, don't miss it.

Prayer:  Father, bless Your witnesses and help us to let the Holy Spirit do what He came to do through each of us, in Jesus name

How I wish I knew you personally, I love you, All because of Calvary, sumner

Be wise

Be wise as serpents, harmless as doves to win some

Get people alone.
As much as possible deal with people one on one. In a home, with a man and wife or even whole family, that is different. Church visitation, I have found saying, "At our church we want, more than anything, to help everyone to know for sure they are going to heaven. May I ask you my pet question?" Do you know for sure that if you died right now you would go to heaven? Many will say, "No," "Could I show you something that is unique that has helped thousand to know for sure?" Almost no one will refuse. Get out the cube and show them. If you do not have a cube, given them the gospel and lead them to Christ. More on this later.

Never ask
1. "What church do you belong to?" Then, if you ask if they know for sure they are going to heaven, you insult them. Never ask "Are you a Christian?" This is one of the worst question you could ask. Most who belong to some church, think they are Christians, they are not a heathen. What do you do then?

What would you say?
If a person says, "I think I would go to heaven" or "I hope I would go to heaven." The best question I have found is, "If you went up to the gates of heaven and they asked, "Why should we let you come in, what would you say? This gets the best and most revealing answer. Think on this. More next time.

Oh dear people, this is more joy than anything you can do. If you will just do it, like Peter say, "I will do as you say" Lk 5:5, you can see lives transformed, including yours and filled with joy. O I love you, ABC, sumner

Prayer:  Father bless Your dear people and fill their lives with joy unspeakable, in Jesus name

Passing out tracts with Love

Don't poke tracts at people

Be gracious. Be courteous. Be kind. Be relaxed. With a smile, say, "May I give you something good to read. You will like this when you have a little time." This is standard with me. Plan ahead. Write out something and have it memorized if you have not given out tracts before.

At a counter
If there is a line behind you, please don't try to witness to the clerk. Graciously give them a tract. They then have a chance to go to heaven.

How it works
In an airport, I stopped at the news stand to get a paper. At the counter, there was a line of seven people behind me. I graciously handed the lady a tract and softly said, "You will like this, it tells you how to go to heaven." I say that often.

Later, the flight was canceled because of mechanical problems. After checking in again, I stopped to get some gum. As I walked in, with no one else in there, the lady looked at me and said, "You are the one who gave me that paper. I read it and prayed the prayer on the back." I was startled. After talking to her a few minutes, it was obvious the lady had really gotten saved all by herself. I got her name and address and called the pastor and he followed up with her. What a joy.

Be very familiar with the tract The Amazing Grace tract, by my dear friend, Lindsey Terry, is superb. I hold the tract so a person can easily see it and ask, "Do you know the song Amazing Grace?" With the enormous number of internationals in Dallas, I don't offer that one to them. They don't know it. Those who do know it, so often remark, "It was my mother's favorite" or, "I love that song." I then say, "This is the story of how it was written. You will love it." You will always get a very positive response.

I care
To a clerk, I often say, "Just remember an 81 year old man really cares if you go to heaven. Please read it and do what it says." It is amazing how many people's face lights up and they say, "Thank you sir." "No one cares for my soul" Ps. 142:4. They cannot say that now.

If they don't want it
Most people respond to us the same way we approach them. If you are gracious, they will be gracious also. Rarely does it happen, but if they refuse it, thank them just the same and go on. Just shake the dust off your feet. Forget them. They are not rejecting you. You must not let the devil defeat you and take it personal.

Just look for the ones God has ready and give them a chance to go to heaven. You will be glad you did in eternity.

"If you want to pick fruit you have to plant seed."

Prayer:  Father, bless Your child and may we all by "all means" try to give people a chance to go to heaven. In Jesus name.

Remember, your are loved by God and me, all because of Calvary, sumner THANKS for your prayers.

Look What God Did

Hannah went to "church" and her adversary "provoked her" there. Tragically it can happen even there. Her adversary, most believe, was Peninnah, Elhanah's other wife who "had children, sons and daughters" Vs 4. That alone would have broken her heart if not make her jealous.

She wept
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise" Ps 51:17. What a great verse and promise. She wept. Don't quench the Spirit 1 Thes. 5:19. We desperately need a broken spirit with the world in trouble as it is.

She fasted
"She did not eat." I wish I had an hour right here. For over 60 years now, when I have faced a crisis or in desperate need, my wife and I have fasted. "Worshiped night and day, fasting and praying" Luke 2:37. Fasting is one the greatest spiritual exercises we can ever practice. It is the most neglected by Christians and what a tragedy. "The real tragedy in life is not what people suffer but what they miss." So much is missed by not fasting like we are taught in Matt. 6:16 where Jesus said, "They are fasting."

Her husband just did not understand He said, "why do you weep and why do you not eat and why is your heart sad? Am I not better to you than ten sons?" vs 8. That dumb bunny. Don't be shocked when people just don't understand, even your own loved ones. Believe me, I have had this all my life. O dear husband, wake up, your wife is hurting. Have you noticed? She needs a hug, She needs your comfort and TLC. And he, dear wife needs your admiration and a lot of TLC, too.

Hannah did the right things
"She, greatly distressed, prayed to the LORD and wept bitterly" vs. 10. Now that is a spiritual woman. She did all the right things. O dear people, get serious about your problems. Get a broken heart, pray to the Lord and weep before Him. He loves it. He responds to that tender attitude.

The preacher did not understand "she was speaking in her heart, only her lips were moving, but her voice was not heard. So Eli thought she was drunk" and rebuked her! vs 13. Too many "Christians" have quit church for a lot less than that. You may be misunderstood by preachers and people but don't you quit.

Look what she did
She responded, "I have poured out my soul before the Lord" vs 15. "The effectual FERVENT PRAYER of a righteous man availeth much" James 5:16. O dear people, this is my need and your need today for ourselves, for our churches, for our country and for our world. Let's pray fervently, faithfully and frequently for "those in authority," 1 Tim 2:1 and for "those who rule over us" spiritually Heb. 13: 7, 17 24.

She made a vow
She vowed if God gave her "a man child" she would "give him to the Lord all the days of his life" vs 11. What is your problem? What is it you want? What will you do with what God gives you? What have you done with what God has already given you? God has given you salvation, spiritual gifts, spiritual opportunities to share the gospel. What have you done with them? I think it is time we all get real serious about the Life God has given us. He did not leave us here to "serve our time" or to "endure to the end" but to "put to use" what He has already given us. Now why don't you "present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship." Rom 12:1. "I will do as you say" Luke 5:5.

Look what God gave her
He did not give her just "a man child." He gave her Samuel, one of the greatest men of God of all times. Then He gave her more children 2:21.

Prayer:  Father bless Your child reading this. Meet that need. Melt that heart. Break that stubborn spirit and use them to Your glory, in Jesus name

You are loved by God and me all because of Calvary, sumner

How do you respond to bad days?

Did the bottom fall out? Did the roof cave in?

It did for Hannah. See how she handled it.

"Hannah had no children 1 Sam. 1:2." For a Hebrew woman that was the ultimate disappointment. "Things that are never satisfied...the barren womb" Prov. 30:15,16 "God had shut up her womb" vs. 5. She did not know that! It wasn't for something bad she had done but for something big He was going to do. Remember this. It is vital in your situation, in every situation.

She had an adversary
At a time like this she needed a friend not an enemy or adversary. You may have an adversary. You need a friend right now. "And her adversary also provoked her sore" vs. 6. You have an "adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour" 1 Peter 5:8. He certainly did a job on Job. Remember, Job did not know what was going on either. You can count on the devil to provoke you, and seek to devour you. Or he will put one of his henchmen, an adversary, to provoke you too.

To make her fret
"Do not fret because of evildoers, Be not envious toward wrongdoers" Ps 37:1. "All things do work together for good to them who are called according to His purpose" Rom. 8:28. You must trust God that it is true.

Year by year
This went on for years vs. 7. You have been going through it for a week or month and think you have problems. God isn't through with you yet. "Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning" Ps. 30:5.

On the way to God's house
"When she went up to the house of the Lord" vs. 7. She wasn't running from God. Hannah wasn't away from God. She was faithful to God. "Why do bad things happen to good people?" "So that you may be (A)sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous" Matt. 5:45. "When you are down to nothing, be assured God is up to something."

"Reproach has broken my heart and I am so sick And I looked for sympathy, but there was none, And for comforters, but I found none" Ps:69:20. Been there, done that? Haven't we all. Stay with us, It gets worse but the end is not yet. Something big is about to happen. Read 1 Sam. 1 and let's compare notes Friday.

Prayer:  Father, bless Your child who is going through tough times and doesn't know why. Give wisdom and grace to see the big things You have in store for them. In Jesus name

To Whom should we take the Gospel

Everyone!
"The large crowd enjoyed listening to Him" Mk. 12:37. Some people make the mistake, like I did, by going after the worst drunkard or the hardest sinner in town. Don't neglect them, pray for them, but don't start there. People do that too often and find the people are hard. They don't respond and the Christian gets discouraged.

Not many mighty.
"For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble" 1 Cor. 1:26. Often I have heard people say, "If only so and so got saved" and they think of some celebrity and their influence and people they know and think how many would be saved. After 60 plus years in the ministry, it just doesn't happen that way. "God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe" Vs, 21. God wants to use you and me, ordinary people, so He gets the glory.

Don't neglect them. Remember Acts 8 and the Ethiopian Eunuch? He got saved. Remember Paul, he got saved. I have led several doctors, lawyers, wealthy people, hall of famer's to Christ. Celeste and I have been to so many doctors the past 10 years. Not one has been rude or refused a tract.

Go to friends and family
Jesus said, "Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you" Mk. 5:19. First, be sure they see a change in you. Let me make an important statement that I often tell people. The closer a person is to you, friend or family, the more careful you must be. ABOVE all don't be pushy. Don't jump on them. I prayed for my father for 35 years before he accepted Christ. Show and tell is a great way to put it.

I led a 13 year old girl to Christ. She was transformed. She had a passionate burden for her family. Over the next 4 months over 30 adults in her family came to Christ because of her life and witness.

Little children
"Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" Matt. 19:14. Before they get hardened, go after them. In today's world we must be careful not to do anything that would cause suspicion. Child molestation is rampant and we must be careful. Be very careful also to make sure they understand the gospel and how to be saved. More on all of this as we go along.

Don't quench the Spirit
Whatever, while you have that first love and passion, witness and see God open hearts to the gospel.

Prayer:  Father, give \Your children to get the gospel to the right people in their circle of influence and help change lives and the world. In Jesus name

You are loved by God and me, all because of Calvary, sumner

Type of tract to use

BE SURE
"Christ died for our sins and rose again" is ESSENTIAL if the tract is to be effective. I NEVER would give out a tract that does not have the gospel plainly in it.

Invitation
Personally, I want a tract that gives the person a chance to pray to receive the Lord Jesus in it. If they do not do it, you can be sure the devil will snatch away what was sown in their hearts, Matt 13:19.

Well done
We live in a sophisticated society and well done, on good paper, in color tracts are much better received and read.

Tracts on cults
You win people to Christ by a positive gospel message. I never carry tracts that deal with cults and their belief. I cannot remember when I talked to someone in the Jehovah Witnesses or other cults. Many of them will read a gospel tract when they would not read a tract against their cult or come to your church. They then have the gospel in their hands are and have heard it.

Tracts for everyone
Hundreds have asked about a tract for Policemen or Doctors or Firemen etc. Truthfully, how many of this specific group of people do you contact regularly? Hardly every. Find tracts that would fit everyone.

Get samples
"Mickey Mantle," "Amazing Grace." "America Under Attack." American Tract Society puts these out. Call 1-800-548-7228 or write American Tract Society, P.O. Box 462008, Garland, TX 75046 and ask for samples and prices.

Good News Publishers, 1300 Crescent Street, Wheaton, IL 60187 is a good tract company. "A moment Ago" is a very good tract to use. Write them for samples.

"God's Simple Plan of Salvation" is one of the all time great tracts. One half billion have been printed in over 100 languages. Written by Ford Porter, now in heaven, but still greatly used. Write Lifegate, P. O. Box 5, Monrovia, IN 46157, for samples and price.

Prayer:  Father, bless Your word as it goes out in tracts. Help Your people to plant seed through tracts for Your glory. In Jesus name. I LOVE YOU dear people ABC, sumner

I led a man to Christ on the phone today! God had him so ready. "Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully" 2 Cor. 9:6.

Interview with God Video

There was a video to watch about an interview with God but it has been changed so I did not include the link.  The rest of this devotional refers back to the above mentioned video.  At the end of this devotional is a narrative of the interview with God video.

Followup
This is awesome. The pictures are gorgeous, you will love them alone. The message is stirring. The last answer of God is good BUT whoever wrote it would have made a better impact if they had given this answer by God, "Tell them I sent my Son, Jesus, to suffer and die for their sins, paid their debt in full and rose again so they could trust what He did was the only way to heaven, receive Him as their personal Savior, just as a man receives a woman to be his wife, and they will be forgiven of their sins, born again and go to heaven."

And I now add, if YOU are not SURE you have done this, do it right now. Pray this, "Dear God, I know I have sinned too and deserve to punished. I believe You that the Lord Jesus suffered and died for my sins, paid my debt in full and rose again. Lord Jesus, I trust what you did paid my way to heaven and right now I receive you as my Savior too. Come into my heart, give me a new birth and the power to live for You. In Jesus name I pray." Please write and tell me if you did this just now or tell me when you did. I love you, with all my heart and want to see you in heaven. all because of Calvary, sumner

" He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life " 1 John  5:12

" He who believes in the Son has eternal life " John 3:36.

Here is the interview in case you could not bring it up on our computer. I dreamed I had an interview with God. So you would like to interview me, God asked. If you have the time, I said. God smiled. My time is eternity. What questions do you have in mind for me? What surprises you most about humankind? God answered, that they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up and then long to be children again. That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health. That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future. That they live as though they will never die and die as though they never lived. God's hand took mine and we were silent for a while and then I asked, As a parent what are some of life's lessons you want your children to learn? To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved. To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness. To learn it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love and it can take many years to heal them. To learn a rich person is not the one who has the most, but one who needs the least. To learn there are people who love them dearly but simply do not yet know how to express or show their feelings. To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently. To learn it is not enough to forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves. Thank you for the time, I said humbly. Is there anything else you would like your children to know? God smiled and said, Just know that I am here -- always.

Oh dear people, the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Thousands will read this and still not know the Savior. The most important thing we can do for anyone, for the whole world, is to give them the gospel every time we have a chance. Make sense?

Leading Kings to Christ

Read about 3 Kings being led to Christ-AWESOME

Dave Teis, went to his home town of Las Vegas and he and his wife knocked on 100 doors a day to reach people for Christ 25 years ago. They had over 1000 attending twice during the month of May. A fantastic church.

Meeting a King
One of the missionaries, Mike Patterson, told about being introduced to a real King in Africa. He put his hand out to shake the Kings hand, which you are not supposed to do. He spoke directly to the king, another no no. When he was explained his lack of protocol he apologized profusely. Then speaking properly through a third person, he told the King that he was the adopted son of the King of Kings. The King was intrigued and asked him to come back the next Thursday and tell him about it

Leading the King to Christ
Mike went back and started with Genesis 1:1 told the King the whole story of the Bible for two and a half hours. When he told how the Lord Jesus suffered and died for our sins and rose again, the King was deeply moved. When Mike asked if he would like to receive the Lord Jesus, he gladly prayed out loud with him and was gloriously saved. Through all of this he was later introduced to two other Kings and had the joy of leading them to Christ.

"Pray for kings"
For years I have prayed, like God told us in 1 Tim. 2:1, for the kings of the world. When I heard Mike tell this I burst into tears as I realized I had a part in their salvation! Oh dear people, it will transform your lives to pray for the things God told us to pray for in the Bible. I have written on this before but here is a live demonstration of why we should pray for ALL kings.

Father, thank you for this wonderful story of how You work in answer to our prayers and our faithful witness. Help Your people to pray and witness like You told us. In Jesus name. And I LOVE YOU, all because of Calvary, Sumner

Evangelistic Tracts Part 2

God Uses Tracts, Do You? continued, 2nd part

God Uses Tracts, Do You? Is the title of a tract I wrote 50 years ago.
It has been reproduced, copied, modified and published in 10 Christian
publications. Here is the second half. Give them out:

6. PRACTICALLY. Don't expect God to stop you suddenly on the street
and say, "Here, give this man a tract" or "Wait, don't give him one."
Would you even have a tract with you if He did? God expects us to be
practical and buy up our opportunities. We don't wait for the Spirit
to move us before we pray or read our Bible. Neither should we wait
for a feeling to give out tracts.

Put tracts in letters, Christmas cards, and bills. Give them to
clerks, waitresses, salesmen; and all who come to your door. Leave
them in places where people will likely see them and pick them up. Go
in teams for mass distribution to bus and train stations, airports,
shopping centers, and sporting arenas. Send teams from the church,
door to door, until you reach every home.

Doctors have put them in statements, businessmen in letters, and store
owners in packages. Tract racks maybe profitably placed in stores,
stations, hospitals, etc. Be sure the tracts are attractive and
printed on good paper. Don't cheapen your witness. Watch and pray for
some new way to distribute tracts.

7. PERSONALLY. One of the unique aspects of tracts is that anyone can
use them, young or old, educated or uneducated, rich or poor. People
who would not come to your church will read a tract in privacy. Be
sure it contains the gospel -- the death, burial and resurrection of
Christ for our sins!

8. PROSPECTIVELY. One of the greatest values of tract is their ease in
opening the door to witness. Use them as a tool to witness but never
as an excuse for not witnessing. After a person has read the tract try
to engage him in conversation, and witness further to him.

9. PRESENTLY. Don't delay; start today. Remember you can never be led
to give out a tract if you have none with you. Again, be like Peter,
"I will do as you say" Lk 5:5. Try to get the gospel to EVERY person
without being pushy or offensive.

10. PURPOSEFULLY. Stamp your address on the back of the tract for a follow-up.

Let's preach the gospel to every creature we meet through the use of tracts.

Father, bless Your children and may they use this tool to get the
gospel to people they could not otherwise reach. In Jesus name, all
because of Calvary, Sumner

Evangelistic Tracts - How to Use Them

God Uses Tracts, Do You? is the title of a tract I wrote 50 years ago. It has been reproduced, copied, modified and published in 10 Christian publications. Here it is:

A sailor told how he was saved while reading a tract thrown to him from a passing car as he was hitch hiking. Alone in her room a girl who was a carhop received Christ after reading a tract left with a tip for her. A tract sent in the mail was used of God to lead a grandmother to the Savior. God uses tracts! Do you?

"Preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). Do you? You may not have enough time to witness personally to each person you meet, but you can witness through tracts. Here are some practical pointers on how to pass out tracts. Pass them out:

1. PRAYERFULLY. Of course everything should be done prayerfully. This is especially true when giving out tracts. Pray for the Holy Spirit to speak to hearts and to open the eyes of the recipient's understanding so that he may receive Christ.

2. POLITELY. Never be rude or crude. If our gospel is an offense, that is one matter. But if we are offensive, that is sin. Be very courteous.

3. PLEASANTLY. It costs so little to smile, but a smile goes so far. With love in your heart and a smile on your face, ask kindly, "May I give you something special to read?" If a person refuses or wants to argue, remain pleasant. Don't argue.

4. PLENTIFULLY. "Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully" (2 Cor. 9:6). Tracts cost so little that you can afford to give them freely. Certainly some people will throw them away. Many turn off the radio, yet we still broadcast the gospel. Many see little fruit because they give out so little.

5. PERSISTENTLY. "Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary" (Gal. 6:9). Let's walk by faith and not by sight. Many have seen great results because they keep at it.

O dear people, the first time you went bowling you did not feel comfortable but became at ease as you bowled again and again. So it is with anything we do. Pray as Peter prayed, "Grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence (they may give out tracts) Acts 4:29. God gave them boldness and a great multitude were saved! May it be so with you, I love you, all because of Calvary, Sumner

When and Where to Plant Seeds

Where to plant
Put one in every letter you mail. I have stories about that. Give them to waitresses as they take your order. The Holy Spirit can then work on them. I gave one to a waitress in Salt Lake City as she took my order.

How God works
As I was eating she came to the table and said, "I read your paper. I did not know that." I said, you did not know what? Tears came to her eyes as she said, "I did not know Jesus died for my sins." It was easy to tell her how the Lord Jesus suffered and died for our sins was buried and rose again. She gladly prayed out loud with me to receive the Lord Jesus. Wish I had time to tell how the missionary out there discipled her.

Sow plentifully
"Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully" 2 Cor. 9:6. I have given out thousands of tracts where that was all I could do. I saw no results. YOU never fail when you plant good seed. Five things happen when you give out a tract. First, you obeyed God, secondly, they then have a chance to go to heaven, thirdly, it frees you of guilt for not getting the gospel to them, fourthly, it will give you the most satisfying inward peace and joy. Fifthly, you are laying up treasures in heaven. I am sure we will be staggered when we get to heaven and find how God used the tracts and see people who were saved from them. It will be worth it all when we see Jesus.

A tool
Here is a tool everyone can use. God uses tracts do you? Be like Peter when Jesus said,"Cast your net in" and Peter said, "I will do as you say" Lk. 5:5. He caught the greatest catch of is life. Dear People do it for His glory and the people's good. You people are the greatest. God loves you and so do I, ABC sumner

Father, You are so wonderful. You give us the privilege of being ambassadors for You. Help Your dear people to use every means, even tracts, to get the gospel to people on a regular basis and use them greatly.. In Jesus name

Planting Seeds

"If you want to pick fruit you must plant seed."

Plant seeds
"Behold, the sower went out to sow" Matt. 13:3. A farmer can have the most fertile field, the richest soil but he won't get any fruit until he plants seed. He could pray over it all day but you must plant seed to pick fruit. So it is for us who harvest and sow, spiritually.

How to plant seed
Every one cannot get in a pulpit and preach or get on the radio or get on Television but every one can graciously, courteously hand a tract to a clerk, the cashier, the salesman, the waitress, the delivery man, the neighbor, a fellow workman. More on this next time.

Be sure
Never give out a tract you have not read yourself. Be sure it has the gospel, the good news, that "Christ died for our sins, and rose again." 1 Cor. 15:1-4. Over 50% of the tracts I have read carefully do not have the gospel in them. Remember this, "it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" Rom. 1:16. "How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed" Rom. 10:14. If it does not have the gospel, it has no power, you do not want to use it. This is crucial. There are hundreds of tracts  that do not present the gospel but are still used and then they wonder why nothing happens and why they do not see any results.

It works
Just last year, I gave a tract to a waitress and she read it and prayed to receive the Lord Jesus right then and was gloriously saved and told me about it. I gave a lady a tract. She read it at 4 a.m. got on her knees and prayed to receive the Lord Jesus. She called me three hours later to tell me about it. She confessed Christ publically and went on with the Lord. I could tell you of scores of incidents like that. We must plant good seed or we get nothing but weeds.

Father, bless your dear children reading this. May they obey You and plant seed all over the place and see You do great and mighty things. In Jesus name. Tell me about it when you do.

Pray for Souls

Pray for souls-you have not because you ask not!

Pray for souls
Plant the seed
Pick the fruit

"You do not have because you do not ask" James 4:2. That, dear people, is the Word of God. Most do not have souls, because they never ask! Doesn't that add up?

First of all
"First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men" 1 Tim 2:1. At my age, I am staggered, stupified, stunned at how we do not do what we are told by ALMIGHTY GOD. Pray for all men! "All men." That is six and one half BILLION people. Pretty important, I would say. What do you pray for them? "Who desires all men to be saved " Vs. 4. You pray for them to be saved. Doesn't that make sense? And when you do, you then have a part in every person who gets saved that day! WOW. That is pretty big and important praying.

Jesus did
"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word" John 17:20. Jesus prayed for the lost! Not only that but He laid down his life for them, "I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also" Jn. 10:16.

Paul did
"Brethren, my heart's desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation" Rom. 10:1. God said, "Pray for all men" all six billion. Jesus prayed for the billions who had not even been born yet. Paul prayed for "all Israel" and that is billions more. Do you get the picture? Some say, "Don't bunch everybody up, but pray for individuals".  The truth is, we must do BOTH.

Pray for souls
We pray for God to give us so many THINGS. Soul winners pray for souls. I do, every day. "You do not have because you do not ask." It really does make a difference. Keep on asking, the two parables in prayer Luke 11 and 18 teach us.

Father, help each one of Your children to begin by praying for souls like You told us to do. Then help us to plant seed with the results of souls being led to Christ by each of us. In Jesus name.

Oh, dear people you too can win souls. There is nothing greater, more lasting, more rewarding you will ever do. I implore you to stick with us and do what the Word of God says. I LOVE YOU, all because of Calvary, Sumner

Belief determines Behavior

Belief determines behavior, believe it?

The first
One of the first things Jesus said is, "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men" Matt 4:19. Is that just a nice saying and cute song or is it the truth. Someone said, "If you are not fishing you are not following." According to this verse, that is true!

The middle
Jesus said, "you will be catching men" Lk 5:10. He did not say you might, you ought to, some will, but you WILL catch. I am terribly bothered about people saying, "We can not all be soul-winner." To me that is a barefaced falsehood.

The last
One of the last things Jesus said is, "Preach the gospel to EVERY creature" Mk 16:15. That is a command not a suggestion. You don't have to you pray about should you pray nor pray about reading the Word of God. We must say with Peter, "I will do as You say" Lk 5:5. Peter obeyed the Lord and made the biggest catch of his life. Forget what others say or do and get the gospel to every person you have a personal encounter. Look what happened when Jesus did that to the woman at the well in John 4. She brought a whole city to Jesus.

To top it off
After He suffered and died for our sins, paid the debt in full and rose again, He appeared to them and said "but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses" Acts 1:8.

Dear people, what are you going to do about these verses? Don't claim Phil. 4:19 and disclaim these verses. If you want God to " to do Phil 4:19, supply all your needs," then you do Mark 16:15. Make sense? If you get the gospel to people you have a few moment with, you will be staggered at what God will do for you far above all you could ask or think. We must walk by faith (obedience) and not by feeling.

Father, You are so wonderful. You got someone to obey You and they got the gospel to us so we could be saved, now help us to obey You and get the gospel everyone else so they have a chance to go to heaven to. I believe the harvest is plenteous just like You said. I believe I am to witness too. In Jesus name.

You pray
Father, lead me to some soul today that You have ready to hear the gospel. Bless our king/president and give him wisdom that Thy will be done on earth. In Jesus name

The Greatest thing to happen Period

The Greatest Thing to Happen to you and others

The most important
What is the most important, greatest thing to ever happen to you? Answer, when you got saved, by far. What then is the most important thing you can do for anyone else. Lead them to Christ and they get saved for eternity. NOTHING COMPARES

How you got saved
I have asked this in scores of churches. How many were saved seeing a sign "Jesus Saves?" No one. How many were saved seeing the poster at foot ball games "John 3:16." No one? How many were saved listening to a sermon on radio? Maybe one of two. How many were saved through a TV preacher or program. Maybe one. How many were saved through a person witnessing to you or a person preaching. Some person comes to your mind. Usually 95% to 99% raise their hands. That's it. God uses people.

Witnessing is not the great debate Please understand and believe this. You don't talk people into being saved. God must convict and convert them. We are just messenger boys of GOOD NEWS. "The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged," argues 2 Tim. 2:24. That takes the monkey off our backs.

Our job.
Our job is not to "win the world" to Christ but to "PREACH THE GOSPEL to every creature" Mk. 16:15. We are not to share "our faith." We are to share the gospel, the good news. This is crucial to become a soul-winner. People get the idea I have to share my faith and defend all the doctrines of our church or the Bible. No, a thousand time no. We are to share the gospel, "for the gospel is the power of God unto salvation." What a difference that makes when you understand it. It is so simple and so easy.

My passion
BElieve me, my deepest passion is for you to get the thrill, the joy, the peace, the satisfaction of seeing people "born of God' right before your eyes. Please read each email and get in on it. DON'T LET THE DEVIL TALK YOU OUT OF IT.

Father, You are so wonderful to let us have a part in this eternal privilege. You said, we shall catch men. Dear God please each one reading this get in on it. In Jesus name

Oh, I love YOU and long for you to be so mightily used of God, ABC sumner

Celeste "Angel" Magee Zimmerman Wemp Obituary

Celeste Magee Zimmerman Wemp, Angel, age 85, went to be with Lord on
July 9, 2010. Celeste was home surrounded by her family and loved ones
when she peacefully entered the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ.

Celeste was born on July 13, 1924 to Benton Winchester Magee and Jenny
Foster and after their deaths, was raised by her Aunt and Uncle Lucia
and Roy Zimmerman in Dallas, Texas. Celeste attended Woodrow Wilson High
School in Dallas and graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago,
Illinois in 1945 and later, Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in
1975 with a degree in Christian Ministries.

Celeste was actively involved in Young Life ministries as a young adult.
Celeste met her husband, Dr. C. Sumner Wemp, at Ross Avenue Baptist
Church in 1946, while he was a student at Dallas Theological Seminary.
Sumner and Celeste were married the following year in Dallas with plans
for missionary service in Brazil. The Lord had other plans and they
entered the pastorate with a heart for missions. They served in churches
in Alabama, Florida and Illinois before moving to Lynchburg, Virginia to
join Liberty University. Celeste joined the faculty there and taught and
mentored women for Christian service for many years. Celeste was known
as a prominent Bible teacher. She pioneered the concept of Christians
Women's Retreats through which she ministered to over 1,000 women
several times each year for over 20 years. Celeste was asked by the
committee bringing in Ann Graham Lotts to organize a special citywide
women's crusade for the city of Atlanta.

She is survived by her husband, Sumner, sons Cliff Wemp, Chuck Wemp and
his wife Donna, Daughters Elaine Grill, Carolyn Wemp, Jean Medley, Janet
Herlyck and her husband Jack, grandchildren, Christopher, Lindsey and
Evan Wemp and sister, Leona Wooten Day.

Become Fishers of Men

I should have kept it. Somewhere I read that only 2% of Christians actually witness. Do you?

"Behold, the sower went out to sow...But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed [a]tares among the wheat, and went away" Mat. 13:3, 25.

We are in deep trouble
Our world, our nation, your nation is in deep trouble. While we Christians have "slept," the enemy has "filled the earth with violence" Gen. 6:10. God is being systematically shoved out. Christians are being vilified, persecuted and martyred. The good are called evil and the evil is called good Isa. 5:20.

The answer
What shall we do about it? What is the cure? What is the answer?

The great commission: believe it or not? "Preach the gospel to every creature" Mark 16:15. This handful of "unlearned and ignorant men" ...who "had been with Jesus" Acts 4:13, believed and practiced it and "filled Jerusalem" with their doctrine Acts 5:28 and then it was said of them, "They have turned the world upside down" Acts 17:6.

We can do it again
They say there are 50 million born again Christians in America. If each one just won one in one year, we would have 100 million Christians. The next year each one just won one we would have 200 million more Christians and that would dramatically change our country and every other country if in their country they would do the same.

Dear people, we can do it again. We MUST! To God be the glory, I am a soul-winner. I know how. The Lord willing, I am going to teach each of you how to effectively and joyously lead people to Christ. No fears. Simple methods. PLEASE READ THE EMAILS OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS! Get your friends and relatives in on this. It will be the most important series I have ever done.

You, your friends, heaven will be filled with joy Luke 15. You will have "meat to eat" above anything you ever had. John 4:32. You will be wise? Prov 11:30. You will be amazed. Lk 5:26. You will shine as the brightness of the stars Dan 12:3. And on and on we could go.

Father, make us "fishers of men" like You said we would be. Use each one of these 8000 dear people to the fullest and fill them with joy unspeakable, to Your glory.

I LOVE YOU and long for you to fulfill His purpose and give you the greatest meaning for living you ever had. All because of Calvary, Sumner

Where is you focus?

My mother taught me one of the greatest lessons I ever learned and use daily. She taught me to observe people. I try to learn the secret of success in influential people's lives. I want to look at some in the Bible.

Enoch pleased God
"Enoch walked with God... for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God " Gen. 5:22, Heb 11:5. It had to be a delight to God to walk with Enoch. Remember who also "pleased" God? "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased" Matt. 3:17. And He Himself said, "I always do the things that are pleasing to Him," John 8:29. Why was God pleased with Jesus? He ALWAYS did those thing that He knew pleased His Father.

We must please God
Oh dear people, you and I must have a passion to "please" God. This has captivated me the past couple of months. The potential and possibilities of "pleasing God" overwhelms me. What we watch on TV, in movies, in magazines and papers makes a world of difference here on earth and in heaven . WOW, catch this, "When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him" Prov. 16:7.

I try to please my wife
I have said hundreds of times, "I have no greater joy than to put a smile on my dear wife's face." I want to please her. How much greater joy, to put a smile on God's dear face. What a testimony to have, "he pleased God."

Prayer:  Father, may each of us be consumed with the desire to please You, In Jesus name

You are loved by God and me, all because of Calvary, sumner

Heaven

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth...and I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold the tabernacle of God is among men...and He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will no longer be any death, there will no longer be any more pain for the first things are passed away...and I saw no temple in it for the Lord God almighty and the Lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it and its lamp is the Lamb."

An invitation, COME
"The Spirit and the bride say, "Come " And let the one who hears say, "Come " And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost."

Don't add to God's book
"I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him)the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book."

I come quickly
"He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly " Amen Come, Lord Jesus." From Rev. 21 & 22.

Jesus must have preeminence
Dear people, heaven is where God is. The streets of Gold and gates of pearl wont be the show pieces up there, Jesus will. God said "that He Himself will come to have first place in everything" Col 1:18. If we will give Him preeminence down here we will have a little taste heaven here on earth.

Are you sure?
Did the Lord Jesus suffer and die for all of your sins, pay your debt in full and rise again to be your savior? Are you trusting Him and His finished work to get you to heaven? Have you personally prayed to receive Him and called on Him to be Your savior? If not please pray right now and say, Lord Jesus, I know I have sinned and deserve to be punished. I believe You suffered and died for my sins, paid my debt in full and rose again. I trust and receive You to be my personal savior right now. in Jesus name I pray. Please write and tell me about it.

Prayer:  Father, bless the ones who receive you through these messages and help us all to give the Lord Jesus preeminence in our lives daily. In Jesus name. ABC, sumner

Celeste Wemp

I wanted everyone to know that Celeste Wemp went to be with the Lord the night of July 8th, 2010.  I just did speak with Sumner and he seems to be doing good and the first thing he mentioned was I know that Celeste has already spoken to Jesus and how wonderful that must be.

Sumner asked me to send an email to each and everyone of you announcing that Celeste has gone to be with the Lord.  The funeral was July 13, 2010 here in Dallas.

God Bless

Sumner Wemp

The Throne

"Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire" Rev. 20:11-15.

Small and great
From the Hitlers and Stalins, to the most elegant Queens and Kings, to the Madonnas and Britney Spears to the homeless and hungry, from the most sophisticated, best behaved self righteous man and woman to the least and littlest, shall all stand before almighty God. No one will escape. Those whose name is not found in the book of life shall be judged according to their works to determine how hot hell will be for them.

Tears
There will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Right now, I am in tears, just thinking about the multitudes who ignore God, indulge in immorality, insist on living any way they please.

O dear people, life is so serious. We must be people who understand the times and live in the light of eternity.

Prayer:  Father, bless those reading this. Help each one to be prepared to meet You and to lay up treasures in heaven. In Jesus name. And I love YOU, all because of Calvary, sumner

The Judgment Seat

The great day at the Judgment seat of Christ

"But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you
regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the
judgment seat of God" Rom. 14:10.

The judgment seat of Christ, the "bema." There is a vast difference
between the Judgment seat of Christ and the great white throne
judgment Rev 20:11ff. At the judgment seat of Christ, saints will be
judged to determine their rewards in heaven. At the Great white throne
sinners will be judged to determine their retribution on hell. More on
each later. Stay with us.

What is the "bema"
We have been to Corinth, in Greece, and seen the "bema," the "judgment
seat," of the Greek Olympic games where the winners were given their
rewards. Dr. Lehman Strauss, who was a great Bible teacher and friend
of mine wrote, "In the large Olympic arenas there was an elevated seat
on which the judge of the contest sat. After the contests were over,
the successful competitors would assemble before the bema to receive
their rewards or crowns. The bema was not a judicial bench where
someone was condemned; it was a reward seat. Likewise, the Judgment
Seat of Christ is not a judicial bench...the Christian life is a race,
and the divine umpire is watching every contestant. After the church
has run her course, He will gather every member before the bema for
the purpose of examining each one and giving the proper reward to
each."

YOU are a winner
If you have seen the Olympics on TV when the gold, silver and bronze
medals are given to the winners, you know it is an awesome and
wonderful moment. So it will be when the Lord Jesus gives out the
awards to the winners in the race of life we all go through down here.
It will be a very humbling but happy time.

Saved by grace; rewarded for works There is a lot of difference in
what you do to get married and what you do because you are married.
There is a lot of difference in what you do to get saved and what you
do because you are saved. We are saved by the finished work of Christ
when He suffered and died for our sins, we will be rewarded by the
works we do for Christ after we have been born again, saved. More on
this to come.

Prayer:  Father, bless Your children and help us to work and put to
use what you have trust us with and what you have told us believers to
do for You so we will have treasures in heaven and crowns to cast at
Your feet in heaven. In Jesus name

God loves you and so do I, all because the Lord Jesus suffered and
died for our sins, paid our debt in full and rose again so we can be
forgiven and go to heaven, sumner.

"If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a
reward" 1 Cor. 3:14.

Heavenly Rewards

Prophecy Conf. "my reward is with me" Rev 22:12

"I am coming quickly and my reward is with me" Rev 22:12

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad" 2 Cor. 5:10.

The next event
Now comes the day of reckoning and reward. Remember, only believers will be taken up at the rapture. This is very clear from 1 Thes. 4:13-18. "For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ" 1 Cor. 3:11. The foolish man builds his house of the sinking sand and it perishes. The wise man built his house on the rock, and "it fell not" Matt. 7:14-27.

"Certainly the believers will be missed! It is evident from the Bible that the sudden disappearance of both Enoch and Elijah (two Old Testament types of the Rapture) caused considerable confusion and alarm among their friends.

"By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God" Heb. 11:5.

Especially interesting are the words, "and was not found." Enoch was doubtless the object of a great manhunt! Imagine what it will be like when all the true believers are suddenly missing. Imagine what it will be like when the "salt" of the earth Matt. 5:13 and "light" of the world 5:14-16 plus the restraining of the Holy Spirit 2 Thes. 2:5-7 are removed. Romans 1:18-32 will be the way of life in those days and Rev. 6-18 will be fulfilled. More on this later.

The Scriptures describe the later translation of Elijah in even greater detail, as the citizens of Jericho ask Elisha about the disappearance of his master.

"They said to him, "Behold now, there are with your servants fifty strong men, please let them go and search for your master; perhaps the Spirit of the LORD has taken him up and cast him on some mountain or into some valley." And he said, "You shall not send." But when they urged him until he was ashamed, he said, "Send." They sent therefore fifty men; and they searched three days but did not find him" 2 Kings 2:16,17.

How much more confusion and alarm will come from the sudden and mysterious disappearance of literally millions of men and women, boys and girls

Today, we visited the cemetery where we have friends and loved ones buried and Celeste and I have a grave site. I choked up as I saw the names of many who never gave a bit of evidence they knew the Lord Jesus. Then Celeste and I both looked at each other and said, "I don't believe we will need these graves." We sincerely believe. Jesus is coming before we die, Wouldn't that be fantastic! We must all live as though Jesus is coming any minute.

Prayer:  Father, bless Your dear children and help us to live in the light of eternity. In Jesus name.

And I love you, all because the Lord Jesus suffered and died for our sins, paid our debt in full and rose again so we can be forgiven and go to heaven, sumner. Do you believe in the finished work of Christ for your salvation? Believe and pray to receive Him as your Lord and Savior right now. "He that believes on the son and he that has the Son, has life" John 3:36, 1 John 5:12.

"I am coming quickly and my reward is with me" Rev 22:12. What will you receive? We will tell this week. Don't miss it.

When will He Return

Prophecy conference "As ye see the day approaching"

What to do
So that you will "not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming" 1 John 2:28 or "the Son of Man will be ashamed of him" Luke 9:26. Awesome thoughts, right?

See Mondays Email for 1 and 2
1. "Occupy til I come" Luke 19:26. Put to use what God entrusted to you. 2. "Win souls" Jude 21-23. "And he who is wise wins souls" Prov. 11:30

Go to church
3. "Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near" Heb 10:25

Do you have to go to church to be saved? No. Do you have to live with your wife to be married? No, but you will not have a good married life if you don't. You won't have a very happy Christian life if you don't attend church, hear the Word preached so you grow and fellowship with other believers. We need each other 1 Cor 12:18-27.

Love one another
4. "And may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you; so that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints " 1 Thes. 3:12,13. "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" John 13:35. "Fervently love one another from the heart " 1 Peter 1:22.

5. "For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes" 1 Cor. 11:26." "What a blessed time to "remember" His death, keep your heart warm, to love and worship Him TIL HE COMES.

Preach the Word
6. "I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word" 2 Tim 4:1,2. And do we ever need to hear and heed it. "Shepherd the flock of God...And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory " 1 Peter 5:2,4. Do we ever need feeding and we need that crown to cast at His feet Rev 4:10, 11.

Purify yourself
7. "Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is" 1 Jn 3:2 "... instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus" Titus 2:12,13.

Every man shall have praise
8. "Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God " WOW 1 Cor. 4:5. Imagine, that every Christian shall have PRAISE OF GOD. More on this later.

Be patient, you will get it
9. "You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near " James 5:8. "For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised " Heb 10:36. Establish your heart. Set it on things above!

Seek things above
10. "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God. WHEN CHRIST, who is our life, SHALL APPEAR, then shall ye also appear with him in glory" Col 1:1-4. WOW Keep tuned for the rest of the story. So much more prophecy to come to pass.
