A delightful Dads day

This just came to me and I am inserting it for Father's day!

IF I HAD A CHILD TO RAISE OVER AGAIN…

·        I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.

·        I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.

·        I would do less correcting and more connecting.

·        I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.

·        I would care to know less and know to care more.

·        I'd take more hikes, and fly more kites.

·        I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.

·        I would run through more fields, and gaze at more stars.

·        I'd do more hugging and less tugging.

·        I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.

·        I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.

·        I'd model less about the love of power, and more about the power of love.

Learning How to Forgive

First, it is impossible to forgive anyone until we first resolve our hurt and our anger. Unresolved, they block forgiveness. Once they are resolved, the door is open for forgiveness, which becomes a choice.

Second, you may need to seek professional counseling to help resolve your hurt and anger, so you will be able to forgive someone.

Third, forgiving them doesn't mean that you allow them to continually hurt you, so you need to exercise tough love and establish healthy boundaries to protect yourself. Let them know, lovingly but firmly, that if they continue to treat you in a hurtful manner, you will need to distance yourself from them.

Fourth, realize, too, that people who are being "too nice" aren't really being nice. They are being weak because they are afraid to stand up for themselves. So you need to work on this problem too, so that you will be able to establish healthy boundaries. You'll probably need counseling to help you in this area too. You can't change the individual, but with God's help and the help of capable counseling, you can change you, and in so doing, you will change your life.

Love is: 'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.'

The way to God is through the veil

The Disjunction of the Veil- The way to God is through the veil

The disjunction of the veil as told in Matt. 27:51-52 says, "And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.".

The veil was only a curtain and not a wall. God tells us "the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest" (Heb. 9:8). Not until Christ's death was the way manifest and opened into God's presence.

First notice that it was divinely rent in two: the picture of Christ's death. They were simultaneous. The veil was rent in two "from the top to the bottom" (Mt. 27:51), not by man but by God. Tradition says this veil was four inches thick, and two teams of oxen hitched to each side could not tear it apart. Obviously no man could. Jesus said, "No man taketh it (my life) from me, but I lay it down myself" (Jn. 10:18). The men of Jesus' day were simply God's instruments to carry out His divine plan of redemption. Isaiah said, "It pleased the Lord to bruise him" (53:10). On Calvary, God was  judging your sin and my sin in the person of His Son "who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree" (1 Peter 2:24). What a Savior.

The veil was dramatically rent. "The earth did quake, and the rocks rent; and the graves were opened" (Mt. 27:51-52). With many who came out of their graves appearing in the city, there could be no question about it being known that something unusual had happened. Those who witnessed it had no excuse for their unbelief. God did all that was needed to show them that Jesus Christ had fulfilled prophecy and was the Messiah.

The veil was deliberately rent. The way to God is now opened completely for all. God says we can "come boldly unto the throne of grace" (Heb 4:16), and we have "boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus" (10:19). Without the rent veil we could not have such access.

The division by the veil: the only way to God

The Division by the Veil

Look at the division by the veil; "And the veil shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy" (Ex.26:33). The veil permitted limited access to God, but it also prevented access to Him until it was rent in two. Christ's earthly life was not an example to get into heaven; His death and resurrection opened the only way to God and heaven.

The veil divided the place of worship and service from God's presence. For any worship to reach God, it must pass through Christ. Much prayer may be made, but it must be in Jesus' name in order to reach God. Many desire to approach God, but they will not get through to Him unless they go through the "one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Tim. 2:5). Jesus said it plainly, "I am the way, no man cometh unto the Father but by me" Jn 14:6. No one gets to heaven through a church, a creed or character, his good works or doing the best he can, but by Christ alone. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to his mercy, he saved us" Titus 3:5.

Prov. 14:12 "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."

Recently, I gave a lady my tract, "Your ticket to Heaven." She read it that night and prayed the prayer at the end from her heart and Got saved and is rejoicing in the Lord today.
