The prescription for prayer. The things God told us to pray for!

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum... And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof; it shall be unto thee holy for the Lord Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people (Ex. 30:34-38).

This incense was made of precious and rare ingredients, each of the same weight and importance. God warned that the people were never to make anything that smelled like it, for this incense was only to be made to offer up to God. These three spices in no way typify or represent three things in prayer, but there are three specific factors for getting our prayers answered. First, prayer is to be made in Jesus' name, for He said, "ask in my name and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full" (Jn. 16:24). One of the prerequisites of prayer is that we pray in Jesus' name, not just for His sake, but consciously in His name. Make sense? The rest next time.

Practical application: "Pray for Kings... who will have all men (Kings included) to be saved" 1 Tim 1:2-4. Since I began praying this every day, I have heard of 5 kings who have been saved. A missionary heard me preach this, began praying for Kings, went back to his mission field and had the joy of leading a King, out there, to Christ. Let's all 10,000 getting this, to just pray DAILY, consistently, what God told us, for Kings, your ruler included and see a big change come about in each of our 120 nations. "There is no king saved by the multitude of an host" Ps. 33:16.

Get "Your Ticket to Heaven" tract. Call 1-877-872-2871 to order..Write a letter to some in authority, to your ruler. Let him know you are praying for him like God told you and would appreciate him reading the tract and let you know what he thinks of it. Almost daily, I hear an unusual story of God using it. Remember I get nothing from it.

Enter the drawing once a day, daily. Most days, I get requests for prayer for someone hurting badly. Go our prayer board and send your prayer request while you pray for others.

The passion for prayer. Effectual prayer.

The Passion of Prayer

The incense was made to ascend by burning. "And Aaron shall burn thereon
sweet incense every morning" (Ex. 30:7). This reminds us that "the
effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (Jas. 5:16).
Sometimes we sense that our prayers do not get any higher than our
heads. If we were to search our hearts honestly we would have to admit
that our prayer at that moment was not a deep burden or conviction of
our heart. Sometimes, too, we know our heart is not right toward God as
we pray. Also, there are times when we are conscious of deep need; we
are greatly moved by the urgency of the matter and cry out of broken
hearts to God. This is the burning of incense, the effectual fervent
prayer that ascends to God.

Cheap, trumped-up, sentimental emotionalism won't get a thing from God,
but the person who comes to Him with a broken heart, a broken and a
contrite spirit, shall be effectual and receive answers. When Hannah was
deeply moved as she prayed to God for a son, she said, "I have...poured
out my soul before the Lord: (1 Sam 1:15). In prayer like that, one is
not so much conscious of the phrasing of his petitions as he is of
communicating his burden to God and crying out for help.

Where is brokenness of spirit today? Where do you hear praying out of
broken hearts? How long has it been since someone prayed and you felt as
though God were right there? When did you feel as though the person
reached up and got hold of God Himself as he cried in agony and a broken
spirit for God to hear and answer him?

It isn't that our tears or our agony change God's heart and mind, but
our passion simply tells us that our hearts are in tune with God that we
can pray in His will. "Not my will, but thine, be done." We are praying
in the Spirit" so we can receive the petitions we ask of God. As we look
at the world in sin and see men and women about to perish, we need to
get stirred up and cry out to God about these things. Effectual, fervent
prayer will go up as incense and reach the throne of God to get our
prayers answered.

I exhort, "Pray for all men...that they might be saved "for God will
have all men to be saved." 1 Tim. 2:1-4. When have you heard that prayed
in any church? Some will say "Oh, you cannot bunch them up like that".
Really, Paul did when he prayed that "Israel might be saved" Rom 10:1.
Jesus bunched us up when He said "I pray for them..." John 17:9. We
believers must stop quibbling over such things and obey God to pray "for
all men to be saved" and then obey God and preach the gospel to ever
creature, person" Mk 16:15. Make sense.

"This poor man cried and the Lord heard him" Ps 34:6

The persistence of prayer - Keep on asking

There must be persistence in prayer. "A perpetual incense before the
Lord throughout your generations: (Ex. 30:8). The two parables on
prayer, Lk 11 & 18 teach one main thing, "Keep on asking". We should
pray in the morning and in the evening, but we also should be in a
constant attitude of prayer all day long. Moment by moment, as the need
arises, the smoke of our incense should ascend to God all through the
day; no matter where we are. Christ, even on the cross, amid all the
jeering and scoffing, prayed to God. We need to develop the habit of
prayer so that at the very moment of need we can cry out to God from
hearts that stay in tune with Him.

It was said of Charles Spurgeon that he glided from laughter to prayer
with the ease of one who lived in both elements. He was always in touch
with God, so it was as natural for him to pray as to breathe. This is
praying without ceasing. Nothing is too trivial or too great to bring to
God, so pray without ceasing.

Practical application: God asks us to "Pray the Lord of the harvest,
that he will send forth laborers into the harvest" "The harvest truly is
plenteous but the laborers are few" Matt. 9:37, 38. Studies show that
less than 5% of Christians ever lead a soul to Christ. The results? "But
while men (Christians) slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the
wheat." America is drowning, with tares chocking out the wheat. America
was founded on God and Christian principles. Now the tares, unbelievers,
atheists, irreligious, godless and the likes are doing everything
possible to rule out God, the Bible and Christianity.

When have you heard prayed in your church on Sunday morning, "Send forth
laborers." When have YOU prayed what God told us to pray, "Send forth
laborers". this is not to criticize them or you but to awaken us to
pray, with persistence, what God told us to pray. Remember, we are to
"keep on asking." Politicians cannot change people. We can lead them to
Christ and He can change them for "if any man be in Christ he is a new
creature" 2 Cor. 5:17. We Christians are to blame for not leading people
to Christ and we MUST obey God and like Peter say, "At thy word, I will"
Lk 5:5 and go "fishing for men" to change them, our nation and the
world. Make sense? Love you and want to help turn the world back to God.
