Have a wonderful freedoms day

We celebrate our independence every year on July 4 th and rightly so. We as Americans have so much to be thankful for and to rejoice in. It is a TRAGEDY that we are losing so many freedoms. BUT, God said to Israel "Thou shalt remember the DAY when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt (out of bondage) ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE" Deut 16:3.

 

I was saved March 28, 1940 and I have not gotten over it yet and still celebrate that day. I now get everyone I can to remember that day they were saved. We must not forget or get over it.

 

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving" Please take a few moments right now to THANK Him for saving you and setting you free from bondage now and hell in eternity. Now just stay in love with Jesus. Tell Him right now, I love you Lord Jesus. You are loved by God and me, All Because of Calvary.

Celeste and I memorized hundreds of verses through Young Life and the Navigators. It is the best medicine we have ever had. It will heal and cure more spiritual diseases than any other thing. Memorizing Scripture is a lost art. Try it for yourself, memorize one verse a week. Repeat it to one another for seven weeks and it will last a life time.

Aaron's Rod that budded

          Aaron's rod that budded was also to be put in the Ark as a testimony. Again we see another story of tragedy in the life of Israel in their wilderness wanderings, recorded in Numbers 16-17. The people were not satisfied with their leaders

 

          "And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore than lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the Lord" Num 16:3.

 

          Does this sound familiar to some congregations today? In the first place, Moses did not take this honor on himself'; God chose him. The congregation did to act very holy along the way, even though they thought they were holy. Because of their sin and rebellion, God did a most unusual thing to judge Korah and those who followed him. 

 

               The ground clave asunder that was under them: and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. They, and all that pertained to them, went down alive into the pit [hell], and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation vv. 31-33).It is still a dangerous thing to rebel against God and His leaders!

 

          To show the others who was to be the spiritual leader, God old them to take twelve rods and write the name of the twelve tribes of Israel on them, with Aaron's name on the one for the tribe of Levi.  They were to lace them before the Ark overnight, and in the morning the owner of the rod that blossomed was to be the leader. When Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, "Behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds: (17:8). Here was God's seal on the one to be His leader and priest.  "And the Lord said unto Moses, Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels" (v. 10). So it was to be a sign for Israel for years to come of their rebellions and of God's seal on Aaron and his sons as priests of God. Ministers of God need the seal of a life-giving ministry and of souls being saved as they minister the Word of God.              All Because of Calvary ABC Sumner
