The seventh passion of mine in 2009

I sent this to the 200 pastors I mentor by email and was told I should send it to all of you. So here goes. I believe this was of God.. If you are not on my mentor list write and ask to be on it for free...

 

I saw the presidential inauguration with the million or so people standing in freezing weather, some coming at 4 a.m. to get close to the front. And what did they see? They saw the swearing in of the "most powerful man in the world", the President of the United States. Oh, I wish I had the eloquence to paint the picture in my mind right now.  

 

One day, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lord's. God Himself.  is going to be recognized and crowned with glory. He wont need a million dollar robe or the most elaborate crown to make Him stand out. He Himself with radiate as bright as the sun and moon together. And WE SHALL SEE HIM. We will not rave and clap and shout and wave little flags around.. I think we shall fall on our faces and worship Him and weep with the joy of heaven on our faces.

 

Oh, dear pastor, every Sunday when people come to our churches, they ought to see some of that glory and be overwhelmed to be in the house of almighty God. Above all they come to see HIM. WE MUST make Him stand out that people will run to kneel before Him and get saved.

 

The Truth, it all starts with you and me. If we have looked on His glory, in His word in our study, it will radiate on our faces as it did Moses. If we are as THRILLED to our bones to pastor His redeemed people, to be  called out by the Lord of Lords to have a burning message right from God for these people, we could transform the world in a few short days. I don't know what to say except to say, what kind of a person do your people look in the face Sunday after Sunday. PLEASE don't get more excited at the super bowl game as you do at the game of life Sunday after Sunday. Don't put on the sweet pastors smile but let the joy of God in your soul burst out to stir up everyone there. I love you and pray you will so possessed of God Sunday they will talk about the One you told them about Sunday all week long. ABC Sumner

God told that great church at Ephesus "I know thy works and thy labour and thy patience and how thou canst not bear them which are evil and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles and are not and hast found them liars and thou hast borne and hast patience and for my name sake has laboured and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen and repent and do the first works or else I will come unto thee quickly and remove thy candlestick out of his place except thou repent (change your mind). Rev. 2:2-5.

 

The sixth passion of mine in 2009 is to restore that first love!!!!!!

 

O, I have not gotten drunk or quit going to church but that passionate love for Jesus, for the Bible, for the lost has lost some of its edge. How do you get it all back. "Do the first works!" I was saved on Sunday and that very Wednesday, I went to prayer meeting for the first time in my life. I found out what tithing was and began tithing and even gave way above my tithe those first weeks. Sunday night I began telling one after another how I just got saved. I talked to God all day and found He was so glad to hear from me. Monday. No one told me to but I began going to my old buddies, apologizing to several I had gotten into fusses with and quit associating with them. Told how I had gotten saved and got some to promise to go to church with me. Several got saved too. I could hardly put my new found Bible down. I would read it for an hour at a time and could hardly stop. PTL I have already starting doing those first works and found IT WORKS. I love HIM and you, ABC Sumner

The fifth passion of mine in 2009

This is the rock bottom and foundation to all others.

The fifth passion of mine in 2009 is BELIEVE GOD. "He did not many mighty works THERE" His own country, "because of their unbelief" Matt. 13:58. "For with God all things are possible" Mk 10:24. Believest thou this? Jn 11:26.

"If thou wouldest believe thou shouldest see the glory of God" Jn 11:40. THAT is what I want to see, the glory of God for the glory of God. Don't be stupid or wicked, not for the glory of ourselves.

Jesus said to Peter, "Let down your nets for a draught" And peter said, "we have toiled all night and taken nothing, Nevertheless, At thy word I will" He believed Him, obeyed Him and caught the biggest catch in his life Lk. 5:4-6. That dear people is what the whole world, desperately needs you and me to do to change the world. My PASSION is to be part of the believing and not unbelieving who see nothing happening. Make sense?
