Soak it in, serve it out

"This book of the law (the Bible) thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein for then thou shall make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success" Josh, 1:8.

God wrote you a letter, you ought to read your mail

Read at least three chapters a day and five on Sunday.

Read Proverbs and then read the New Testament. :Proverbs which is more valuable that all the jewels made and it will "keep you from the wicked man" Pro 2:12 ff and "keep you from the strange woman" 2:16 ff one that is not yours.

"Learn to learn" Sumner. Learn to meditate. Soak it in. Think about what it says and what it means to you. You let God teach you truths and ideas you have never learned and you will never be the same and richer than any millionaire.

"Thy words were found and I did eat them and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart" Jer 15:16. "I have esteemed Thy word more than my necessary food". Thyt word have I hid in my heart that I might now sin against thee"

Kind sir, dear lady, do this for God, yourself and your mate and your children. You will be a wise and "wealthy" person. I LOVE YOU, ABC Sumner.

How to rejoice and be glad in each day

"This is the day the Lord has made",what are you going to do with it? Here is a great idea, "I will rejoice and be glad in it" Ps. 118:24. You can make or break your day.

What does God want to do with it. "These things have I written unto you, that your joy might be full" 1 Jn. 1:4. How can you help fulfill it?

Simple, 1. "Follow after that which is good" shut off that filthy T. V. or radio program.or book. 2. "Pray (and praise) without ceasing", 'You have not because you ask not" James "Whoso offereth praise glorifies me" Ps. 50. "In everything give thanks for this is the will of God for you" "Were there not 10 cleansed, where are the nine?" .Luke.

"Quench not the Spirit" "Obey the Spirit" was the constant admonition that fostered the great Welch revival. Copy Peter, "At thy word I will" Luke. "Prove all things, hold fast that which is good" "Abstain from all appearance of evil" Make sense? "Faithful is he that calleth you, who will also do it" He will keep His word if you will keep His word! Make sense? References in 1 Thes. 515 ff.

From one of you! "Why call me LORD and not do what I tell you." Indeed, I myself really feel bad if my children ignore the requests of my command.  Thank you for alerting me and I have meditated on this, indeed I feel sorry for myself for the times that I ignore God's instructions.  May you pray for me so that God should grant me the grace to fear and love Him so that I should always please Him and live by His word. This is indeed touching to a true Christian." AMEN, I love all of you, ABC Sumner

Judge yourself...

"If we would judge ourselves" 1 Cor. 6:31. With the world in turmoil over the financial conditions, big businesses on down to frail families are judging everything they do to evaluate where they stand, We as individuals beginning a new year ought to judge ourselves as to our standing with god. Paul did. I have too.

Paul's first evaluation of himself was, "I am the least of the apostles" 1 Cor 15:9. May I share my soul with you? My honest evaluation of myself is "I am the least of all preachers and I sincerely mean that. Anything good that has happened in my ministry it is all by the grace of God. He did It. "Without me you can do NOTHING." That is fact.

"Unto me who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given that I should preach" Eph 3:8. I say a hearty amen to that. I know there are zillions who are more qualified and could do a much better job.

"Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief" 1 Tim. 1:15.

Oh, no Paul, move over, that is the only place in the world I deserve the number one spot. I am not trying to be funny but to compare myself to Jesus and that is the only one we should, I am the chief of sinners. No, I have not murdered or raped anyone but deep inside I feel I am, like Paul Said, "I am the chief of sinners." Like my dear friend, Dave and I say, "I deserve nothing but hell." THANK GOD FOR THE GRACE OF GOD.

Check up. Where do you stand? "Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God..

And, may you have the best year of all, All Because of Calvary, ABO, Sumner
