A Son Given

"For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this" Isa. 9:6,7.

Literal fulfillment
"A child will be born...a son will be given" was literally fulfilled. The last part, "the government upon his shoulder...upon the throne of David" must be and will be fulfilled literally too.

No more wars
Isa. 2 and scores of passages in the O.T. fit in here. "They shall hammer their swords into plowshares...and never again will they learn war." Imagine a thousands years of peace, no wars and a reign of righteousness. Satan is bound for this 1000 years "that he should deceive the nations no more" Rev. 20:1-6. Isa. 11 tells so much about that 1000 years of peace. "The wolf and the lamb shall lie down together"

The book
"All the Prophesies of Scripture" explained in one volume by Dr. John F. Waloord, you must get. This is by far the greatest book on prophecy ever written. I feel I have spent too much time on these articles on prophecy and must end them this week. There is, of course much more I have not touched on but this book will give you all the answers.

My goals
There are two reasons for this series, that we might be men like Issachar's sons, "men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do" 1 Chron.12:323. The second is that we might be blessed and transformed by this truth Rev; 1:3, 1 John 3:2,3.

O dear people, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth" 2 Tim 2:15. Dig deeper daily. Soak yourself in the Word of God. Don't read or set your eyes on junk but fill your mind on "whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things" Phil 4:8.

Prayer:  Father, bless your dear people and may we understand what is going on even though the lost world is blind to You and Your plans for all of us. In Jesus name

"I Haven't Moved"

This couple were so in love that when they rode together in the car, the wife would sit so close to her husband that it looked like there was a two-headed driver in the seat.

Years later, she is sitting close to the door on the other side. A young couple pass them sitting snuggled up to each other. She looked over longingly at her husband and said with a sigh, "Remember the days when we used to sit so close to each other? I wonder what happened?"

The husband looked over at her and quietly said, "Well, Honey, I haven't moved."

O dear people, I hear from Christians, clergymen, churches and countries who once were so close to God. They snuggled up to Him. They loved His Word, His Church, prayer and preaching. Now their church is cold. Souls are not being saved. The joy of the Lord is missing and they wonder why? They ask where is God?

God looks down and says, "I haven't moved."

O dear people, God says, "Thou hast left (not lost) thy first love." God says return and do the first works. "People, Pastor, Christian, church, America, all other countries, we must come back to God. It all starts with ME (God). "Taint my brother nor my sister but its me O Lord standing in the need of prayer." This illustration just struck me and I felt the urge to send it to all of us to "examine ourselves" and do the first works that made us filled with His joy and His blessing.

Prayer:  Father bless Your children and may we just snuggle up to You and do those wonderful works that kept the fire burning in our hearts. In Jesus name. All because of Calvary, Sumner.

The judgment of the nations, (Gentiles), Matt. 25:31-46

In 1955 I wrote an article on this. It was published in the prestigious Publication, "Our Hope" founded by the famous Arno C. Gaebelein and then published by his son, Frank Gaebelein and edited by a great Bible, Scholar, E. Schuyler English. What an honor. Dr. English begged me to write more because of the way I "handled the Scripture." I should have listened to him. Here is a brief summary of that article.

The nations Vs. 32
The word for "nations" (ethnos) is the word for "gentiles" and is what is meant here in contrast to the Jews. ( 1 Cor. 10:32).

Sheep or goats 32-34
The sheep, are called "the righteous" and told, "'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." Vs. 34. "Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels " Vs. 41. Interesting, hell was not prepared for man but for the devil and his angels. God does not send people to hell they chose it rather than choosing Jesus.

You did it unto me
"'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in" Vs. 35. Hang on to this.

The King
Jesus is speaking, now as the King coming to rule and reign, and says, "Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me" Vs 40.

Who are the brethren
We believe they are the 144,000 Jews , set aside at the beginning of the tribulation, Rev. 7:3-8, like the Apostle Paul and anointed as was Paul, to be the evangelists during that 7 years of time. Matt. 10 is a preview of the 144,000 going to "all nations" (Gentiles) and finishing the great commission, 24:14, and seeing a "great multitude which no man could number of all nations" saved Rev. 7:9-17. A key to this is Matt. 10:23, "you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes." It will be finished by these 144,000 Jews.

The basis of their salvation
"Whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words" Vs. 14. Then Jesus said, "He that receiveth you receiveth me and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me" Vs. 40. These 144,000 Jewish evangelists will have "the seal of God in their foreheads" Rev. 7:4. To receive them, you know what you are getting into. You either receive them and their message of salvation or the mark of the beast.

Compare
Read Matt. 10 and Matt. 25 and see the parallels. They obviously fit together.

O dear people, the Word of God all harmonizes. There are no contradictions. Scripture explains Scripture if we study enough and seek God's wisdom and let the Holy Spirit teach us. God surely does love you and so do I, all because of Calvary, sumner

Father, teach Your dear people and give us a hunger for Your Word and wisdom. In Jesus name.
