FANTASTIC, From a pastor. A MUST READ

Every born again believer ought to be an advocate of the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  In witnessing and passing out tracts I often tell people with a smile "I'm a good news advocate, here is some good news!"  They always receive the material with a smile and a "thank you" and say, "That's what I need!"  Why not mentor others with the good news of the gospel?

Recently I kept a record of the number of tracts I used, giving over 1,000 in just one week to individuals I met along the way!  If I can do it so can you!  Just start carrying gospel tracts with you and share them with others everywhere you go.  Never go anywhere without them, just as a chain smoker would not think of leaving his/her cigarettes behind.  C. Sumner Wemp's tract "Your Ticket to Heaven" is one of the best starter/opening tools I've ever found that really gets results.  I've used thousands of them!  You can order them from Good News Publishers at http://www.goodnewstracts.org.  I also want to thank those individuals that help provide funding for these witnessing and soul-winning tools in our home missionary work here in North Central Missouri.

On a home ministry tour this week with Deacon Wayne Boley we were following up on visitors, absentees, prospects, those that are ill and backsliders.  We came upon the home of George Berrett (23) and his wife Jessica (21).  In the living room of their little home we were able to share the good news of the gospel to George and Jessica and of course they gladly received Christ into their hearts and lives.

Earlier in the day I was making the rounds at our county jail and came up Daniel Weaver (29) and Kailen Volter (23).  David was soon to begin serving a forty-year prison term and Kailen was to be released in a day or two.  Both were interested in what I had to say and as I began to explain the gospel and our Savior's love and offer to forgive sin, 29-year-old David began to weep.  Both he and Kailen gladly and joyfully received Christ into their hearts and lives.  They can now say as Rick Warren prayed "Jesus is the One who changed my life forever!"

Each week before I go on our scheduled witnessing, soul-winning and discipleship ministry tour at our county jail I'm praying for the Holy Spirit to do His work in the hearts of the "detainees" that our good Sheriff Steve Cox has incarcerated in his facility.  The Holy Spirit never fails to prepare individuals to hear a clear presentation of the gospel and with joy they receive the message of salvation in repentance and faith in Christ.

Recently, as I entered the inner "pod" area where about 20 men were held, I noticed 41-year-old Samuel Lanson sitting on a concrete table as if he was expecting me to come.  Soon eight others gathered as I spoke to Samuel concerning the great love that Christ has for all of us, carefully explaining the way of salvation through the power of the gospel.  Out of the nine men in the circle I had previously led five of these young men to Christ in the past few weeks.  The other three, Adrian McClellon (20) , Deyvan Deperalta (20 and Henry Teummell (20) along with Samuel were lost; but all listened and all four gladly with boldness received Christ into their hearts and lives when we prayed the "sinner's prayer of salvation".  After instructing them further and giving them several gospel tracts and other material to help them as new believers I went to another part of the jail.

Upon entering the other part of the jail I immediately came upon Grant Smith (18) standing by the bars, inviting another nearby Chris Miller (22).  I explained the good news of salvation in Christ.  It was amazing the intense interest of these two young men and how eagerly they responded to the invitation to receive Christ, causing the angels in heaven to rejoice!

Be a good news mentor!  Help share the gospel and teach others also.  "You ought to be teachers (mentors), you have need that one teach you again…"  (Hebrews 5:12)

WHO CARES?

When I landed in Wash. D. C. I found my next flight to Albany N. Y. was canceled. As I went up to the ticket counter, two men were right behind me who were also going to Albany. The agent rerouted the three of us. It was right at dinner time and I asked about getting a meal ticket. Back then he gladly gave us meal tickets.

WE ate together and I began to share the gospel. It was obvious one of the men did not have a clue what I was talking about. The other did.

Now look what God did. I was ticketed to sit next to the man who knew what it was about. His heart was so open and he gladly prayed with me to receive the Lord Jesus as his Savior and then asked if I knew a certain Bible college. I said, "I know it well and that it was a wonderful Christian college. He said, "My daughter graduated from there and married a preacher and he now pastors in New Orleans. She has prayed for me and pleaded with me to accept Christ as my Savior. Wait unto I get home and call and tell her I got saved 30,000 feet in the air.

Who cares? There are many millions burdened for a loved one, praying for someone to lead them to Christ. Do you have a loved one you are burdened for, praying for and praying someone would lead them to Christ. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Then, like the rich man in hell, there are multiplied millions in hell pleading for someone to lead their loved ones to Christ lest they come to this awful place. You can be sure you sat next to a person who has a loved on in hell pleading for you to lead them to Christ. Did you? Will you? Who cares? Do you? WE ALL MUST CARE AND SHARE THE GOSPLE WITH THEM. Make sense? Only we can "change" America and turn it back to God. We must. And I LOVE you. Keep praying for Celeste, she need healing from God.

My religion is very simple -- my religion is kindness.  -- the Dalai Lama, Excuse me kind sir but the Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died for your sins and mind, paid our debt in full, rose again and was seen by hundreds of people. God says we must trust and receive the Lord Jesus as our personal Savior.
