The Eternal Weight of Glory

"For light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal but the things which are not seen are eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:17–18).

Do you have problems? I'll bet you do; we all do. Our afflictions are really light and for just a moment, compared to eternity. If you "suffer for Jesus," they bring eternal glory that outweighs all else. Don't murmur but "In everything, give thanks" 1 Thes. 5:18.

Dear people, we must not look at our temporal, trivial trials only, but at the things of God that will make a world of difference in eternity.

Jesus asked His disciples, "Do you love me?" (John 21:15). Say it, He loves to hear it orally even as you love to hear your children say it! His love will empower you to see your problems with the proper perspective.

Prayer: Father, help us to remember that our affliction is only temporary, but Your glory is forever. Help us to stay in love with You and to tell You daily that we love You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
