TIME OUT!

Someone sent me this and it really has a lot of wisdom that we all need and can use. Hope you like it.

Ways of Wisdom in Practical Living
Life is like a journey along an unknown stretch of highway; full of dangerous curves and various paths that can be followed. In the book of Proverbs the Father has provided His children a "road map," explaining the proper ways to follow and pointing out the dangers in "taking the wrong way!" Neither time nor space permit a detailed examination of the different topics presented in Proverbs, but here is a sample and you can expand these! (For a helpful listing of topics in Proverbs, see Allen P. Ross, "Proverbs," The Expositor´s Bible Commentary, 5:897-903.

"Father knows best!" "My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart" (Prov. 4:20-21). "My son, keep my words And treasure my commandments within you. Keep my commandments and live,  And my teaching as the apple of your eye" (Prov. 7:1-2). "Listen to your father who begot you, And do not despise your mother when she is old" (Prov. 23:22). THE WAY YOU VIEW YOUR PARENTS IS A WAY OF WORSHIP!

"Work wisely ... Waste no Time!"  "Being diligent in working" and "being lazy" are often contrasting subjects which are dealt with in the book of Proverbs. "Go to the ant, you sluggard ("sluggard" = "to be idle," "to delay;" "lazy-bones; "In all labor there is profit, But mere talk leads only to poverty" (Prov. 14:23). If  it is house work, work at the job, studies at school, or whatever you do! THE WAY YOU WORK IS A WAY OF WORSHIP!

"Temper, Temper!!" "An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one  commits many sins" (Prov. 29:22). "A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated" (Prov. 16:17). WHEN WE CONTROL OUR ANGER, IT IS A WAY OF WORSHIP!

"Hold your Tongue!" "The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence" (Prov. 10:11). "When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise" (Prov. 10:19)."He who despises his neighbor lacks sense,But a man of understanding keeps silent. He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy conceals a matter" (Prov. 11:12-13). "There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing" (Prov. 12:18). "A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable, But the mouth of fools spouts folly" (Prov. 15:1-2). "Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; When he closes his lips, he is considered prudent" (Prov. 17:28). WHEN WE CONTROL OUR TONGUE, IT IS A WAY OF WORSHIP!

Oh, dear people, we all need to have our pure minds stirred up by way of remembrance. 2 Peter 3:1.
Remember this, God loves you. Jesus suffered and died for your sins so you can be forgiven by a Holy God. The Holy Spirit lives in you, don't embarrass Him or hurt Him by any big or small sin.
